Word of Mouth:  Some have reported seeing "something" moving through the cemetery, especially late at night.  The SPIRITS found little activity, though one section did provide EMF spikes to the question "Is someone with us?"  and "Can you confirm that you are still with us?"  The cemetery also houses the victim of a cold case file that is described as "lore".  A young woman was killed and her murderer never found.  We attempted an EVP session with her and had some response via EMF, but nothing on EVP.

The cemetery was established in 1905, but has residents born in the 1800s.  Many of the graves are relatively modern.  It is in a high traffic area and across the street from a school.

I think that we should try to get permission to be there after dark. then we might get more in the way of photo's. I think that evp is really difficult because of the surrounding noise like cars, bugs and neighbors talking.

Comment: Possible partial manifestation photo. It is very light and hard to see. At one point towards the end of the investigation, we asked if the entity was present (spike on EMF). We asked if it would be in photograph (spike). I said, "We are taking a picture near that tree. Go by the tree." Denise and I took pictures (I took 2 of the area). One has something in front of the trunk that the other is missing.

Brandy: Strange behavior of the EMF meter. It did spike in parts of the cemetery for "Are you with us?" But would not spike for "Are you buried here?" "Are you what people claim to see moving here at night?" It did spike for "male", it did spike for "Old part of the cemetery" and "Will you be in a photograph?" It almost consistently spiked for "Are you with us?" in the center and "old" part of the cemetery. EVP (8.3 minutes) had nothing (too many background noises). Only one other photograph had an orb in it. All other photos were nondescript.

I felt dizzy upon shortly after arriving at the cemetery for a brief amount of time.

Brandy: Mary sent out a lot of info to me after the investigation. I know that she knew the police officer, once her former neighbor, who was buried there. There was a strong unsolved murder case there.

Brandy: We must determine what is around the tree. Could this be an oddity, a patch of light, or is there actually something manifesting? Recently got new equipment and would like to try a second EVP out there prior to dusk and the noise.

Mary: There were a couple of fluctuations on the KII meter while questions were being asked in the older part of the cemetery as well as some EMF meter spikes Also when the group asked questions at the grave of one of my former neighbors, EMF spikes indicated responses when the name of his daughter and first wife were mentioned

Mary: Sunnyside Cemetery was first established under that name in 1905. The cemetery itself was originally a private cemetery on property purchased in approximately 1880 by Nathaniel Ellis who used it as a burying ground for his family members. It was known as the Ellis Cemetery. Purchased around 1900 by John O'Berry it evolved in Sunnyside. (info provided by the Pinellas Co Genealogical Society). Further research revealed that for a period of time the city contracted with the cemetery to serve as a final resting place for indigents Following the investigation I researched several burials in the cemetery and have found that there are at least 2 unsolved homicides, one of a young man and one of a young girl, both occuring in the 1990s. Some well-known citizens are also buried in the cemetery which is the 3rd oldest in Pinellas Co. For an example: http://www.stpete.org/HoxieGraves.htm gives the story of two of these.

Pictures taken by a tree in the cemetery after Brandy requested the entity who was thought to possibly be following the group was asked to stand by a particular tree. In the photos she found what appeared to be a partial manifestation. The team needs to review that area for possible natural explanations.
