Though few may realize it, ghosts are not necessarily bound to one place and may have the ability to change homes at will.  These entities, often called "drop ins," have various reasons for staying in the physical plane.

One such case occurred locally in a beautiful three-bedroom home in Brandon.  Three roommates, a married couple and a single man, occupy space with one unseen individual.  The SPIRITS were called in to verify the existence of this unseen roommate.

It did not start out well.  The investigation was nearly cancelled due to one of Florida's notorious rain storms.   Though the cloud front weakened enough for safe travel, it did not cease all together.  This did offer the SPIRITS a unique opportunity for study, as some paranormalists believe that aberrant weather  aids ghosts in manifesting.

In addition, Ricky, the roommate who contacted the SPIRITS for an on-site visit, was concerned because little had happened in the past month to indicate a presence. 

The final variable was a change in procedure enlisted by the team.  Several new steps were added, including a pre-investigation portion used to determine standard areas of  EMF produced in the house, make sure that extraneous appliances are shut off by the homeowner, and to register standard room temperatures. 

A secondary "silent walk through,"  designed to dispel ideas of "suggestion," follows.  The entire team walks through the area writing down any impressions, emotions, or ideas received.  No information is communicated between  teammates.  Afterwards, the group reconvenes in a centralized location to select areas in which the investigation will focus.

Fortunately, all factors appeared to work in the team's favor.  The areas of high activity were the master bedroom and two smaller bedrooms located on the other side of the house.  The living room in between the three also held extraneous energy. 

In the master bedroom, the two sensitives immediately picked up on a male presence.  The name "John" or "Don" was cited.  He did not come with the house but arrived after the three living occupants settled in.  He was a friendly entity and seemed pleased that the SPIRITS were there.

He followed the team to the guest room where he communicated the most information.   Though he enjoyed the house and those who lived within, there was one person that he did not like.  This individual was a former roommate who moved out of the house several months prior to the investigation.  He did not get along well with the three current roommates and his visits often caused tensions within the household.  Often, it was after this person visited the house that the ghost manifested himself out of annoyance by pacing in the living room.  He also interfered with electronic devices, his favorite being the large screen television set.

In the guest room, one video camera captured a moving orb-like image.  Small, round, and feathery, it drifted from one end of the camera's screen to the other.  It was not seen by the naked eye.  In the living room, multiple pictures taken around the entertainment set also revealed orbs.

During the homeowner interview, the SPIRITS learned several things.  Ricky confirmed that activity often happened in living room.  Blinds would sway of their own accord and, as he watched, the television set turned itself on and off rapidly, a feat he could not replicate.  He had called out an electrician to check on the house wiring.  Nothing abnormal was found.

He also confirmed the information about the former fourth roommate who had, indeed, continued to stop by the home for some time after moving out.

As an interesting side note, during the interview one SPIRITS member took several snapshots of the room.  The images caught a bright white orb hovering in between three members of the team.  Prior pictures taken in the same area captured no anomalous images.  It may well have been the "fourth roommate" eavesdropping a bit to hear exactly how the others felt about him.

Stillview Circle Paranormal Investigation on Sunday, February 16, 2003

We began arriving at 4:50 for our 5pm investigation. It was raining so we all waited in our cars till everyone arrived. The tenant, Ricky, offered us home baked cookies while we prepared our equipment. Ricky shares the 3-bedroom pool home with the owner and the owner's girlfriend. The roommates don't have any pets and only Ricky was home during the investigation.

The S.P.I.R.I.T.S. members present for the investigation were: Brandy, Susan, Denise, Amy, Sue, Troy, and Amelia. This was Amelia's first investigation with the group.

I first asked Ricky to please shut off the air conditioner and any ceiling fans. These could stir up dust which could appear as orbs in our photographs. We then began with a pre-investigation walkthrough with everyone breaking into smaller groups. We used various equipment such as EMF readers and temperature gauges in order to get initial readings. The sensitives, Susan and Denise, were asked to make notes of their impressions without communicating them to the rest of the team. We then followed with a silent walkthrough where we all walked around the home and jotted down any feelings or sensations we had. When we re-convened in the living room, we decided to re-visit the three bedrooms again as a large group.

LIVING ROOM: During the pre-investigation, I measured the living room for temperature fluctuations with my Radio Shack IR thermometer. The temperature was between 74-78 degrees. Using my E.L.F. EMF reader, I found no EMF fluctuations that couldn't be explained by electronic equipment or electrical wiring. The living room contained two groupings of couches and chairs facing two TV sets. During our silent walkthrough, I started feeling headachy in the living room. During our non-silent walkthrough, Susan said she felt sadness in this room. She felt a child had drowned in the pool outside. Susan also felt footsteps pacing from the patio door to the fish tank on the west wall of the living room. She then said she heard the kitchen cabinet slam shut.

KITCHEN: Next some of us headed into the kitchen. The kitchen also doubled as an office containing a computer. The temperature was between 76-78 degrees. I found no unexplainable EMF readings. GARAGE: We then took readings in the empty garage. The temperature was 74-79 degrees and again I found no EMF fluctuations that couldn't be easily explained.

MASTER BEDROOM (owner's bedroom): Next we headed into the master bedroom. The temperature readings were between 71-73 degrees. I didn't get any abnormal EMF fluctuations besides a danger reading while approaching the bedside clock. The reading is not unusual, but the fact that the clock emitted so much EMF and was so close to the bed could be a problem for anyone sleeping too closely to it. It would be best to move the clock further from the head of the bed. Even a few inches would help. During our silent walkthrough, I kept hearing a high-pitched noise that kept fading in and out. Amelia said she also heard it through the earphones of her large camcorder. It's possible it came from Susan's video camera because I heard it again later during the second walkthrough. Amy said she felt a heaviness near the chair in this room. Denise said she lost her breath. During our non-silent walkthrough, Denise sensed a young white male in his early 30s standing behind Brandy and reaching for her. At that point, Brandy's camera battery died. Susan felt a heavy feeling. She felt sadness and a sensation of being disoriented. Susan felt the bed was in the wrong place. Denise said she was getting the names 'Thomas' or 'John'. Both Susan and Amy, who arrived in separate cars, both mentioned they had had feelings of Déjà vu during the drive over to this house. It was suggested that the cause might have been because our last investigation was also in Brandon. One of them disagreed with that and said she felt it while driving down the road outside the housing community. We attempted an EVP session from 6:08 to 6:11. In response to our questions, Susan said she got the year 1958 as a birth date. She also got the name Don and that no, he was not here alone. When asked how he makes his presence known to the tenants, Susan said he walks. When asked what he' s doing here, Denise said 'looking'. Susan added 'looking for Stephanie'. Denise got chilled when she heard 'Stephanie'. When we asked if the man was connected to the child Susan felt drowned in the pool, Susan said that the child was born in the 80s perhaps 1982.

MASTER BEDROOM BATHROOM: The temperature in the bathroom was 71-73 degrees and my E.L.F. reader didn' t pick up any EMF readings although Amy's did. Amy said she sensed a heavy feeling in this bathroom. During the non-silent walkthrough, Brandy registered an EMF spike here too.

BEDROOM #3 (smallest bedroom): We then entered the smallest bedroom. The owner's girlfriend just started moving some of her things into this bedroom recently. The temperature only fluctuated between 71 and 72 degrees. I picked up a danger reading on my E.L.F. reader on the west wall. Later, Troy told us there were meters on the outside of the wall which would definitely explain the readings. During our non-silent walkthrough, Susan mentioned she had a sense of being lost in this room. Denise felt a male entity, quite possibly the same one we encountered in the master bedroom. He asked why we were here and did we come to help. At that point, both Susan and Amy saw Brandy's EMF gauge spike. Denise then announced that the entity was reaching for Susan and that we can't help him. Susan said 'It's too late'. Denise said he told her he just showed up long ago. Susan felt a despondent feeling. At that point, Amelia said she kept getting chills. Troy and I found the room to be very warm. Then the following conversation happened:

Denise: Trouble

Susan: in the house

Denise: fighting, physical trouble

Susan: He's not related to these roommates

Denise: He wants to go Susan: into the light

Denise: What light? He has to stick around. He's sitting on the bed reaching for Susan.

At that point, Susan mentioned she felt a cold spot and her right hand was cold. Brandy and Amy took temperature readings and did indeed find Susan's right hand was cold compared to the rest of her body. Denise said the entity will be here to help if trouble comes. Susan then announced she was starting to get a headache. She said the entity didn't want to be sent away. He was okay with the tenants when there was no fighting. He's sorry for disturbing the tenants during the night. Denise said he doesn't like someone. Susan added that the person causes fights when he/she leaves. The entity is protective of the person who lives in this room. She added that the entity is sad and that there's been a lot of sadness in this house. During our interview with Ricky, we found that this room used to be his when there was another roommate named "S". "S" would cause frequent arguments. When he returns for visits, it usually ends up with an argument. During that discussion, Denise said 'that's the bastard!'. She then explained she was hearing even more colorful language than that. Susan said the entity doesn't intentionally try to be noticed. She also said he's not just in this room, he's in the whole house. Denise said she felt the entity was very sensitive, very touchy feely. Susan added that he was a Pisces messing with electrical stuff unintentionally. She said he was a painter and that's why he reached for Brandy in the master bedroom and Susan in this small bedroom. Susan felt he wasn't a professional artist, but had sold a few pieces. At this point, she said her right foot was very cold. The temperature readings Brandy and Amy got showed her right foot registered 71-82 degrees. Her left foot registered all in the 80s. Denise then told us the entity was thanking us for listening to him. He said it's about time someone listens to him!

BATHROOM: The temperature was 72-74 degrees. I registered EMF in and near the medicine cabinet. But their air handler was near the bathroom and I believe the EMF was caused by wiring in the wall. HALL: The hall between bedroom #2 and #3 was a consistent 74 degrees.

BEDROOM #2 (Ricky's room): This bedroom is Ricky's bedroom. The temperature was 73-75 degrees. I found no EMF fluctuations. Right before our silent walkthrough, Denise saw a shadow through her video camera while filming into the room from the living room. She also saw a moving orb. Amelia said she saw one in the corner.

TENANT INTERVIEW: Ricky has rented a room from Matt, the homeowner for the past 2 years Matt and Keri also live in the home. Keri recently moved some of her belongings into the smallest bedroom #3. Before this, bedroom #3 used to be Ricky's room. At that time, bedroom #2 was rented by a roommate named "S". When asked about phenomenon he encountered in the home, Ricky told us of numerous occasions in the past couple of months where the living room lights flickered off and on. He also told us the TV would turned itself off and on and he has felt drafts on his legs. He told us of an instance when he noticed his car radio was on even though the car alarm was armed and the keys where not in the ignition. On January 24th, he told us black soot fell down from the living room ceiling onto all three roommates. He said it was like candle soot, but moving down from the ceiling. When they touched the soot, it disappeared. His friend Jessica, in the reflection of the big TV, saw someone behind her walk from the living room into the kitchen when no one was there. Ricky told us he doesn't sleep well in this house. He only averages 2-3 hours per night and that is very restless sleep because he keeps wakening. When asked if he had ever encountered phenomenon before moving to this house, he told us yes. While in his old apartment with his ex-fiance, candles would be lit when they came home even though the candles where decorations they never lit. And, sometimes the radio would turn on by itself. He said he can't wear watches because they break. He also encounters computer problems both at home and at work. He told us that the women in his family have had premonitions, but not him. When asked about the names Stephanie, Thomas, and John, Ricky told us his first fiance's name was Stephanie. Thomas, he said, is his middle name. During our interview, Susan showed us that she had captured an orb in motion on her camcorder in bedroom #3.

CONCLUSION: While we didn't find any EMF evidence, it's possible that a young male entity considers himself a roommate of Ricky, Matt, and Keri. He feels he 's there to protect them against 'trouble'. We speculated that the trouble could be caused by the ex-roommate that moved out, but still visits from time to time. It appears the entity doesn't want to disturb anyone and was very happy to finally be acknowledged and heard. I hope that our visit brings some peace of mind to Ricky and allows him to begin feeling restful and comfortable in his home.

Susan's Report

Nothing spectacular as we came upon this house other than the fact that many of us had a sense of Déjà vu upon driving into the area and had not been there before. The first scan of the house yielded some minor EMF fluctuations in the master BR and bath and in BR 3. The temperatures stayed fairly even throughout. In the master BR there were some orbs that I feel can be attributed to the shiny paint on the walls. Also in BR 3 we were able to capture a floating orb that traveled across the tape. We attempted to communicate with a young male entity through our sensitives. He seemed to be very comfortable with me and we had 20 degree temperature fluctuations on areas where the other sensitives 'saw' him. There were also some minor EMF spikes. He said he was not happy with someone who came to the house on a regular basis as this person caused unhappiness. As we later found out, this was true. A certain visitor, and former roommate, caused arguments. I also sensed the death of a child involving the pool. This is still under investigation. There were some odd readings and photos taken in the living room around the TV. This is where the residents have experienced most of the activity. I felt that the entity was protective in nature and will become much less active if the offending visitor stops coming by.

Pre-Investigation:  I worked with homeowners and so did not participate in the pre-investigation this time.  The team noted high EMF coming from the air handler and also discovered where the power box was held (back of the outside wall in bedroom 2).

I did participate in the silent walk through.

I felt an unusual draw in the Master bedroom (1) to an old miror.  The atmosphere in the room was also still and calm.  The living room also felt still and quiet.  Most other locations I felt little interest in.

Discussion:  Amy felt a draw towards the master bedroom and an old chair.  Denise felt that she lost her breath.  She heard a sound in the master bedroom.  Susan felt sad and heavy, disoriented feeling.  Susan thought she sensed a child's spirit near the pool. 

The livingroom, near the tv, also issued several comments.  The group also decided that bedrooms 2 and 3 needed to be investigated.

Investigation:

Location: Master bedroom 1

EMF: NO

Temperature fluctuations: None

Photographic anomalies:  Orbs appeared on digital cameras.  Amy and I both picked up orbs.  I got an orb near the mirror I sensed something near. 

Other occurrences: Troy felt very warm in many of the rooms in the house.  Susan thought she sensed a father's spirit in the room, looking for the child's spirit she associated with the pool. 

The new batteries in my digital camera went dead after I took a few pictures.  I went out to get new batteries.  When I came back in, Denise said she had sensed a male entity standing near the mirror who had reached out towards me.  At that moment my batteries went dead, and I went out of the room to get more batteries. 

Susan sensed the birth date of the entity as 1958; she sensed that it was not alone, and it walked around the house.  Susan sensed the name Don or John, and Denise heard Thomas/John.  Denise also thought he was looking for someone female, which is why he had reached out to me.  Susan picked up the name "Stephanie"....perhaps his daughter.  At that point, the entity began to back off.

We attempted an EVP at 6:08 which lasted until 6:11.  Amy used her digital Olympus; no results known as of yet.

As we left the room, Denise heard "don't leave"....Brandy sensed something like stale air right outside the door way.

Susan felt that we should check the pool area.

Location: Livingroom

EMF: NO

Photographic anomalies: Orbs appeared for Amy and Brandy.  Amy noticed orbs in front of the TV.  She requested that the entity pose in front of the TV.  Subsequent images that both Brandy and Amy took turned up with orbs.

Other occurrences: Denise wondered if the homeowner had found VCR tapes on the ground.  Susan picked up a pacing movement through the room, or in the attic above the room.

Location: Bedroom 3

EMF: YES

Range of Reading/Spike: Witnessed by Amy, fraction of second

Temperature fluctuations: Yes, on Susan.  Temperature dropped for her from 88 degrees to 77 degrees.

Photographic anomalies: Denise, using Susan's video camera, caught a potential orb moving across the lower part of the screen.  She also heard "Come here" from teh male entity, who "reached for Susan.  At that point, Amy saw a spike in my EMF meter. 

The message from the entity was that we coldn't help, it was too late.  Amelia felt chills at this point.

The entity talked about trouble in the house, some sort of fighting in the house.  It was there to protect the person in that room.  It did not like the fighting.  It did not like one person who came to the house; that really upset the entity. 

Susan sensed that he was in the Master bedroom, and that he was a very sensitive and emotional man.  She sensed that he messed with electrical stuff, and was a painter who showed work and sold some pieces, but was not a professional.

He did not die in the house, but seems to have arrived of his own violation. He likes it there and is happy.  (Brandy felt chills).

He was sorry for causing disturbances at night.  He also liked Troy's energies as Troy was very laid back.  He thought the team was nice...but that was about all he had to communicate. 

(Remember, the team had no prior information coming to the house.  All info revealed was during the interview session later that night).

There was some mild activity in bedroom 2, and Susan sensed that it was lost.  There was a sweet smell coming into the room.  That was all of the anomolies in the room.

The remainder of the house, including the kitchen and the garage, seemed very quiet.

Interview

Other Indications of haunting:

Unusual dreams?  Ricky doesn't sleep too well in this house.  Doesn't sleep through the night;  wakes up every 15 or 20 minutes; even prescribed sleeping medications don't help.

Lucid dreams? No

Old Hag Syndrome? No

Paralysis Dreams? No

Expression of SLIder phenomena? Yes.

History of breaking watches.  Computer parts "go like mad".  Hard drives, CD Roms.things break constantly for homeowner. Computers act up at home and at work. 

Premonitions? No; In family women appear to have psy ability.grandmother had a vision of his breaking his arm as a child and called his mother.  A moment before, he had fallen and broken his arm. 

Family photographs have had deceased relatives manifest.  At least one image has held an image of his deceased grandfather, holding his favorite drink in his hand.

Other:  As requested, homeowner kept a journal of paranormal events.  These events include:

12/2/02:  Lights in living room go on and off.  While watching a movie, Ricky said he thought the movie was bad.  He "asked" if the entity agreed to flick the lights once, if not to flick lights twice.  The lights flickered twice.

9:18 Felt a draft on right leg only

9:23 Draft gone

9:26 Draft returned until 9:30

12/3/02 (After these events that same night)  When Ricky said "good night" the lights turned on and off three times.

12/3/02, 11:13 pm:  Lights turned off then on.  The living room seemed cold, but other rooms seemed warm.  Matt came home light turned off for 30 seconds then came on.

12/4/02:  The lights turned on and off  4 times.

12/10/02: Lights in the living room started flickering on and off.  All other lights ok. 

12/14/02, 9:40 pm: Ricky home alone. With windows closed and a/c off, blind slatt (located in the living room) began to swing.  Lasted until 9:46 p.m.

10:02 pm:  All candles in house lit, and holding a steady glow.  Candle in living room, in an area of activity, began flickering.

12/20/02, 10:35 pm: Lights turned on and off three times.  Lights then turned off for 35 or 40 seconds, and the blind slats began to swing for about a minute and a half, then stopped.  Again, the a/c was not on,  nor were windows open.

12/21/02, 12 a.m.: Light turned off and stayed off for 30 seconds.

Candle by tv showing unusual behavior; only one not steadily glowing, but constantly flickering.

1/6/03, 10:23 p.m.: Lights turned off and on twice.

10:30 pm. Lights turned on and off three times.

1/14/03.  Things had settled for a while.  However, a former roommate came by for a visit. The lights shut off. 

(During the interview, Denise "heard" "That's the b-----d."   It seems that the former roommate caused a lot of arguements and fought often with Ricky when he lived in the house.  After a visit, everyone currently living in the household feels a bit unhappy.)

1/15/03, 9:40 or 9:50:  Ricky went out to his car.  He noticed that the alarm was on, the windows up, and the keys were out of the ignition, but that the car's radio appeared lite, as if it was on.  No sound came from the radio, but it should not have come on.  He turned off alarm, got into car and started up the engin, turned off radio, turned off car.  Could not get the radio to come on again with the car turned off and key out of ignition.

1/23/03:  All room mates sitting in living room.  They saw something like smoke which was  floating down.  It looked almost like soot.  However, it dissolved almost instantly, or if they tried to touch it.  They did not have a camera and could not obtain a sample.

Nothing happened for several weeks afterwards.

Tonight, 2/16/03, during the investigation, Ricky felt a tickle on his arm/back while he was near the blue chair.  This happened three separate times. 

Prior history: 

In this home, the large screen TV would turn itself on and off, as if someone were playing with the on/off button.  Could not easily replicate that for us.  When he pushed the button, it took several seconds of pressure to get the tv to turn on or off. 

An electrician has checked the wiring in the house and can find nothing was found that was wrong. 

In a prior home, Ricky lived with his former fiance.  They often experienced the radio turning itself on at "full blast" at 1 am.

In addition, candles would light themselves while they were gone, or they'd return to find the candles smoking as if they had been lit and blown out just before the arrived. The home was  5 or 6 miles away from Ricky's current residence.

If animals are in the vicinity, have they been observed acting strangely?  NO

Medical conditions? No

Does the potential entity manifest as:

Shadow figure? Not really, though a house visitor reported seeing someone walk into the kitchen behind the couch.  She saw the image reflected on the tv screen.

Peripheral vision manifestations? Yes, on occassion, movements were observed from the corner of the eye.

Full manifestation? No

Cold drafts? Yes, primarily in the living room.  See notes above.

Cold spots? Not one particular area.

Investigator's Observations & Conclusions: Ricky's middle name is "Thomas"...and his former fiance is Stephanie.

I found this investigation very interesting.  First of all, it was one of the few we've done with stormy weather in Florida.  There were threats of thunderstorms, though none manifested. 

The team also had a rough week prior to getting there, and the number of individuals coming was questionable.  However, the team, which included new members, did very well together.

I found it very interesting that the information the team picked up was accurate, according to the homeowner.  Going in, Ricky had warned us that he didn't think there was much activity, and even asked if we wanted to call it off.  However, not only did the team pinpoint areas of activity, Ricky was able to verify what happened.

I believe that there may be a mild haunting in the home.  Everyone present, including Ricky, seemed to sense that the entity was very upset with one person dropping in.  This one person was the former roommate.  The former roommate was in bedroom 2, and Ricky stayed in bedroom 3.  The homeowner has consistently held bedroom 1.  The bedroom where Ricky once stayed is now a guest room.  The entity seems to still be attempting to protect Ricky in his old room. 

I found it interesting that the large screen tv, which probably produces a radical amount of EMF when on, attracts the entity as well.  There is enough EMF in the house to possibly augment the entity, particularly with the location of the power box, air handler, and TV.  The pool outside the living room might also help.

Overall, I was pleased with the investigation, and the team's results which seemed to accurately reflect information the homeowner revealed during the interview phase.  Many details I did not even have access to or knowledge of until the actual interview.

Observations:

All EMF readings and temperature readings were consistent throughout the house prior to our investigation. Nothing abnormal to report, other than it was abnormally hot in all the bedrooms. This may be due to the fact that all air was turned off prior to the investigation, which obviously would cause the stuffiness I felt in the smaller bedrooms.

1. The master bedroom seemed to draw a lot of interest from Susan and Denise. This room was the first room where Susan and Denise encountered one/two entities? Susan/Denise picked up on angry entity or two? Amy picked up strange vibes from the bathroom/toilet located in the master bedroom.

2. All smaller rooms, except for the bedroom occupied by Ricky outside of living/TV/kitchen had activity noticed by Susan/Denise.

3. Room that I characterize by poster bed with stuffed monkey, had the most activity experienced from Susan/Denise, that we were all party to. This room seemed to be more friendly than the master bedroom, in that one entity was more willing to let his "wants/thoughts/wishes heard or felt by Susan/Denise. Both felt a presence from a concerned entity. Entity was felt to be a protector, and disliked the "arguments and dismay" that occurred in the house. Entity thanked Brandy for letting himself (Susan/Denise said it was male) be heard. Entity went as far as saying (through Denise) that I (Troy) was cool. I got a chuckle out of that. I thanked him.

4. After our investigation, I was amazed at the results. Ricky informed us of an ex-roommate that continually visits their place, and that no one (unfortunately for him) cares for. Susan/Denise were dead on, on the entity that was upset over the arguments and general antagonism/animosity that exists between the roommates and the ex. Their (Susan/Denise) experience with the entity (him being upset over the quarrels) was right on!

5. Sidelight, check.

Ricky said that he experienced their candles burning in a strange fashion. Smoke will rise from a candle in an upward stream, and leave the area. Ricky noted that the smoke, at one time in December would rise, break up, and disintegrate downward, like sand falling.

This was truly fascinating to me! What a great piece of art, be it digital or physically made, this would be. I thank him for the image that is in my head. We asked if he had pictures, and the reply was no. We suggested he (Ricky) get a camcorder or camera for potential happenings. Still, this is the one thing reported after our investigation that has remained with me, and given me ideas for future artwork.

6. Overall, a well constructed investigation. Kudos to Brandy. I feel that after all was said and done, the hunt proved to Ricky that the answer to ridding their home of aforementioned entity is quite simple. Disassociate completely with the past roommate. Some entities, as experienced by me (tongue in cheek, for I don't have the "gift" as others in our group do), are cool, and only want to be heard in the right light.

7. Perhaps this entity just wanted to erase the "pick-up" that was felt by Susan/Denise of potential drowning in pool at location?, and humans just added to the misery. Perhaps this entity just wanted a cool place to hang, without the past to cloud it? Are entities selfish, like us living? Strange. Perhaps our soul has poetry attached, after, that like us living, wants to be seen or heard. Art, after our stay in the now. Strange, but so interesting.

8. Overall, on a stormy late February afternoon, with cookie smells in the air, this turned out to be quite eventful.

Denise's report

Prior to attending this hunt I had been battling several medical issues, which made me feel tired and uncomfortable.  I had to enter the residence and separate my previous medical conditions with any new feelings that may have risen during the investigation.  At 5:20pm we began our first silent equipment walk through of the home.  I immediately became anxious and nervous as if I was feeling strong energies around me.  Knowing that this was completely opposite to how I felt prior to entering the residence I believed that there may be spirits lurking near by.    While getting the equipment together I witnesses a shadow figure in bedroom number three.  This was witnessed from the corner of my eye and only lasted a brief moment.  Although the shadow was gone, I did not loose the sense that someone was watching us from this room.

The only equipment I brought with me on this investigation was my thermometer and writing utensils.  I had planned on taking notes of the investigation and not attempting to make any contact with the spirits or get to involved with the scientific side of the hunt.  This was due to my medical issues.  Needless to say, the spirits had other plans for me that I was unaware of.  Being a new and an extremely amateur medium, I constantly questioned all the information that started coming through.

During the first walk through I did not get any unusual temperature readings.  On the second time around I did sense a male spirit in the master bedroom #1.  I felt heavy and could not catch my breath at times.  In bedroom number two I smelt a strong odor of men's cologne.  I did not smell it the first time around and it was in the doorway of the bedroom only.  Considering this was a males home, I did not give too much credit to the smell.  While in bedroom #3 I was sitting in a chair looking through a video camera's view screen.  I witnessed something float across the bed.  It moved very quickly in an up and down motion.  It looked as if a feather had floated across the bed.  Although it was not visible to the human eye and flew much to fast to be a feather.  Also I checked the area of the bed and surrounding it and could not locate anything that could have been what I saw on the video.  Later we confirmed the video camera did record the event. 

On the third and final walk around the residence, this time to actually make contact with any entities present, I sensed the male presence in the corner.  He was in his thirties and was looking for someone.  I believed he said his name was John.  I witnessed him reach out as if to put his hand on Brandy's shoulder.  Just then Brandy advised her camera stopped working and walked out of the room.  At that point Susan and I attempted to learn more information about the entity.  Susan picked up his name as being Don.  (quite similar to mine).  She felt he had been born in 1958 and was looking for Stephanie, who was possibly his daughter who drown in the pool.

As we left this master bedroom I got to the doorway and heard someone distinctly saying "Don't go!".  Brandy politely asked him to join us in the other rooms.  I did not get anything of significance in the second bedroom, but again spoke with a male entity in the third bedroom.  Susan was standing near the chair I had been in earlier and I sensed the male entity standing behind her.  She sat down and the entity moved in front of her and reached for her.  The male presence was very polite and happy that we were there.  We asked if would could help him, but he said it was too late.  He was there because he tough there may be trouble in the future and he was there to help the current owners.  Susan and I continued to speak with the entity and he explained that he did not like someone that would come around.  There was a lot of physical and verbal yelling and fights when this person was here and after he would leave.  The entity made it perfectly clear he did not like the subject and was there to protect and assist the home owners.  He did not want the owners to send him away.

I felt that the entity was a sensitive and "touchy-feely" type of person when he was alive.  He was very happy with the team and was glad that he could reach out and make contact with us.  After leaving the bedroom, I had now exhausted all of my energy due to being ill prior to the hunt.  While the home owner was talking with the team, I sensed that the entity was still in the bedroom or hallway watching what was going on.  When the name "S" was mentioned as the person who caused a lot of problems for the home owners, I heard "That's the bastard" loud and clear.  He was happy that we now understood the message he was trying to convey.  That was the trouble he was going to stop in the future.  With that I did not take any further notes or document any more contact with the entity.

Much of the information Susan and I received was verified by both scientific means or from the home owners.  I was very pleased that the investigation worked out as well as it did.

The day we investigated Stillview it was extremely rainy - with floods - and lightening.  It immediately set the mood for the rest of the day. 

The silent walk through yielding some temperature fluctuations in the master bedroom (bedroom 1) and a few EMF spikes in bedroom 3. 

We decided to re-investigate the bedrooms and the living room.  The Master Bedroom produced a possible entity.  White male in his 30's whose name was possibly John or Thomas.  He felt a lot of "guilt" and was looking for someone.  Seems he was looking for a Stephanie, possibly his daughter.  The year 1958 came up.  We attempted an EVP here - which did not produce anything. 

We moved into the living room.  I caught a few orbs around the blinds and the TV.  There was an odd feeling in this room as well. Sensitives picked up on this.

We then moved into bedroom 3.  This is where a "moving orb" was caught on video during the silent walk through and where most of our activity began.  Amelia got the chills and Brandy had a significant EMF spike.  Susan began to pick up a presence that explained of past trouble in the house.  There was fighting.  (later confirmed by the home owner) The entity felt as though HE needed to stick around - although he was feeling a great deal of frustration.  Susan's hand became cold and temperatures fluctuated on her between 77 and 85 degrees.  We did ask the entity permission to take photos of him - which he granted.  I did not pick up anything in my photos.  The entity did reach out to Brandy and then again to Susan.  Her (Susan's) feet became cold.    After conclusion with the entity he thanked us.  We asked him politely to not interfere with the current home residents. 

We did not experience anything in bedroom 2.

Notes:

I felt shudders throughout the evening, but I think it was more due to the heat inside the house rather than ghosts crossing my path. I had my Cannon XL1 with me, and I caught a slight flash on camera in the main room, but after looking closer I really think it was a flash from a still camera.

Master Bedroom:

The master bedroom did not seem abnormal to me, and my camera did not pick up anything out of the ordinary.

2nd bedroom:

We picked up various EMF fluctuations that later proved to be electrical wiring on the outside of the house. I felt drawn to this room mroe than any other, and I stood in the corner slowly panning my camera across the room for several minutes. Denise was opposite of me and caught some amazing "feather-like" entity crossing the room in front of me. My camera did not pick up anything, but at the time I was focused in a different area. Susan and Denise had contact with a spirit in this room, and the temperature seemed to fluctuate around Susan. The spirit liked Troy's energy.

3rd bedroom:

I didn't get a chance to fully investigate this room. The other members did not feel any overwhelming energy from this area, so we let it be.

Overall impression:

Unfortunately when my face is pressed behind the eye of the camera, my intuition is limited. I did not feel anything beyond a few chills and an uneasiness in the 2nd bedroom. I was, however, impressed with the communication achieved by Susan and Denise. Also, the orbs caught on camera by Amy's still camera were amazing.
