It's time to clean out the archives again. This investigation is nearly 3 years old and certainly deserves to come to light. The interesting aspect about reviewing and summarizing older cases is that new material concerning the paranormal continues to emerge. The most interesting aspect of this case, and a perplexing point for paranormal investigators, is attempting to explain entities who are sensed on an irregular basis. The homeowner described the sensation of a "peeping tom" -- a Native American -- who looked into her house from time to time, but never came in. The SPIRITS members also sensed an entity curious about what we were doing, but who may not have been the same as the one sensed before. So, how can paranormal investigators explain the ideas of entities who are sensed on an irregular basis? There are three potential ideas that might be utilized:1) Recently, a new book, "Ghostly Companions The Third Man Factor" (John Geiger) was published. This book offers a fascinating insight into ghostly phenomena via "the third man" -- the sensation of another person who is present for an individual during times of great distress. The author describes story after story of individuals who face great trials of endurance, yet who swear that they were not alone. My favorite description is that of the man whose travelling companion died during a mountain climb. As he began to climb down the slope for aid, quite the trek, he felt the presence of another individual with him. He was so certain that this person was there that even upon stopping to rest and eat, he divided his food up for two. Who was this mysterious presence? The ghost of his brother? A gaurdian angel? Or was it simply a psychological coping mechanism to help him maintain focus as he descended the mount? Mixed with other stories of such events, it becomes a bit hard to distinguish. The similarity of the cases -- from a comforting presence as a boy recovered from a snake bite to aviators who flew across the world with an invisible co-pilot -- certainly points to some sort of phenomena going on. The author questions if the result is a biological hardwiring of the brain, a coping mechanism, or God himself working with the living. It is a fascinating idea.2) Caffeine consumption. Only in the past year have articles concerning the over consumption of caffeine come to light. After exceeding the normal doses, people describe the sensation of being watched and hearing voices -- two phenomena that investigators look for. Recently, Tampa Bay was discovered to be the city with the highest caffeine consumption in the United States. St. Petersburg is her sister city, a mere 20 minutes from Tampa. With new energy drinks on the market, filled with caffeine, taurine, and sugar, more hallucinations may well make themselves manifest.3) A "drop in entity", as the SPIRITS featured for an article months before, might be the final choice. This is an entity with little or no relation to the land, owner, or property who is simply attracted because he (or she) likes the area. They are difficult to work with as language may be a barrier. As intruders onto the property, they may be more relunctant than "regular" entities to "talk" to sensitives or to work with equipment. There are, certainly, other choices that may fit here. However, with little more information to go with paranormal investigation will have to continue to explore the unknown to solve these enigmatic riddles. Perhaps a fourth or fifth category may be added to those listed above, or science will conclude that the supernatural really is contained the the landscape of the mind. Only time will tell. Debbie’s Report –Pinellas Point 11-17-2006 Investigation

The SPIRITS members and 2-potential members arrived at the investigation location that is the home of one of our SPIRITS members, Jennifer. A friend of Jennifer’s was also present for this investigation.
As we waited for Brandy and Denise to arrive, Jeanne played an EVP she had captured during a past investigation called “BathroomBob”. I offered to try and record it to my laptop for editing and to place it on the group site for her. We continued to entertain ourselves with EVP recordings until Brandy arrived and opened the investigation.
2-teams were formed. My group began our investigation in the front yard. The first picture I took contained 2-orbs at the driveway entrance. No other orbs were found during the exterior portion of the investigation. Temp outside was 65 degrees and falling.
This house contains two front doors. One door enters into a large foyer and the second front door enters into the opposite side of the house to the living room. It is this second front door that I had the feeling that a presence had settled. None of the pictures I took captured orbs or mists. We searched the garage but I neither felt anything nor captured any obvious orbs. Denise reports energy, non-human. Possible vortex?
Inside the house temperatures were mainly holding in the mid 70’s. However, I had the oddest impression that someone was watching our activities thru out our walk through. I originally termed this feeling as a peeping-tom entity but it was really more like someone watching from the outside – in.
When we investigated the Florida room I asked the entity “if you’re hungry why don’t you go over by the table with the food on it and let me take a picture of you”. I received a light anomaly on the wall by the table. This light anomaly is somewhat speculative since a lighted candle was also on this table. However, I was not able to reproduce the image in subsequent photos from the same as well as different angles. We proceeded into the kitchen heading for the living room. Again, I received the impression that someone was looking in through the larger windows in the eat-in portion of the kitchen. I again captured both an orb next to Denise and in the same picture; a similar light anomaly appears over Jeanne’s head. We proceeded into the living room then into the master bedroom, which held the lowest temperature reading through the home, not counting the garage. Though none of my team recorded any sensitivity or orbs in photos, Brandy’s team reports EMF response and EMF flux in the master bedroom closet. During our reveal after the silent walk through, the possibility of vortexes was brought up.
The second bedroom gained a bit more sensitive activity and Denise requested I ask the entity to enter so I could take a picture of it. I complied, but no orbs resulted for our efforts. This is a technique I seem to have developed since joining the SPIRITS. Where I call out for the entity to be in a certain spot that is easily recognizable for the purpose of having its picture taken and the entities have been surprisingly compliant. It will be interesting to see if anyone else picks up orbs during at this specific time. While standing in the corner and shortly after making this request, I felt the weirdest cool breeze under my wig. Wigs are great for keeping warm on chilly evening. Almost like a wool hat.
We returned to the Florida room where were compared our findings with the 2nd-group.
Denise, our sensitive, reported a strong energy upon entering the garage. Also was picking up the name “Cameron” in the living room. She had possession of an EMF meter but no real EMF readings typically recognized as spirit related were registered. During the EVP session when the homeowner and friend walked through the Florida room Denise experienced a strong feeling of sorrow when they past her. I will let Denise explain her sensitivity impressions.
Shaun, reported no orbs in her pictures but did get a sense or feeling that she related to the old tree in the front yard.
Mary reported feeling “something by the master bedroom” and no orb pics.
Cher (first investigation) reported the “something about the garage” feeling but no pictures of orbs.
Brandy, had multiple spiking with EMF detector in the master bedroom with one very strong 1.5 in response to her request to “make it spike’. There were double spikes next to a crucifix that the homeowner uses to aid in psychic shielding of herself and her home in regards to negative energies. There was also a report of the master bedroom closet feeling cooler but I’m not sure comparative temperature readings were made.
My over all impression of this investigation was that there is an entity, possibly a young male in his twenties that looks in from the fringes. A very strong impression I labeled “looking from the outside in”, the only way I can explain it, stayed with me through out the investigation. Even during the EVP work, the spirit would enter but not really “join” us. There was appropriate EMF affirmative spiking to questions. Another impression I got from this entity was shyness though no one else seemed to pick up on this. Could it be that this entity is just being respectful of Jen’s shielding attempts?
During a total of 81 minutes of recording time for both the WavePro and the digital recorded, no EVPs were captured.

Cher's report
November 17, 2006 Pinellas Point and Indian Mound
Being that this is the first time I’ve done this, I will admit to being a bit preoccupied with everything going on. It was very interesting and I look forward to going on more and hopefully settling down so I can ‘tune in’ to why we’re at a location.
That being said, I took many pictures in both the inside and outside of the house, plus a few at the mound but did not pick up anything. No mist or odd shape or orb or anything. A few shots I turned off the flash to see what I might get but, alas, nothing.
I was also carrying around a recorder of Debbie’s (I think it was hers) but I do not know if it picked anything up or not. I know I did not hear anything out of the ordinary.
I sensed nothing outside the house but there was something about the garage, especially the front right corner (if you’re standing inside the garage facing the door).

The group split into 2 teams at the beginning of the hunt. Brandy, Cher
and I started with the inside of the home. The other team started on the
outside. During our initial walk-through, I had no impression of any
spirit or other paranormal activity until reaching the hallway just outside
the master bedroom. My feeling there was not of a spirit, but more of any
energy that was definitely not negative. Temperature readings in the master
bedroom were considerably lower than in the other parts of the house,
the exceptions being the Florida room with open windows and the garage.
Brandy got EMF spikes in the master bedroom as well, particularly by the
crucifix.
Denise did get the name "Cameron" and felt that this entity was
somewhat hesitant about being there with us. When asked his age, EMF spikes
responded to "in his 20s." The homeowner had a relative that she felt
watched over her by the last name of Cronin. We later learned that his
picture was in the hallway outside the master bedroom.
I picked up very few orbs. There was one orb in the living room, a
large orb in the hallway over the doorway of the master bedroom and another in
the family room.
Moving to the outside, the temperature stayed the same with a drop of a
degree near the side of the house. There are some light anomalies of
some type (multi-colored orb-like objects) and some other very faint orbs.
This picture is the only one that was out of focus. I believe the fainter
orbs to possibly be pollen.

Notes: Last day of Mercury Retrograde, Crescent moon waning, and asteroid showers starting. Additionally, I feel very tired due to job issues. It is Shaun’s second hunt and Cher’s first hunt.

We broke up into two groups: Brandy, Cher and Mary started inside, the others started outside.
Living room:

As we moved into the hall, we picked up several more spikes on EMF. Opened closet door; no findings for what could produce them. Temperature dropped to 67 degrees.
Bedroom 1:
1 small spike
.2 – 1.5 EMF; temperature dropped 1 degree (68 degrees to 67 degrees).
Tested light and wiring in closet and no response. Checked light sockets; no response. Cold and chills felt.
I asked questions – are you here? Spike.
Can you make this meter go off? Double spike.
Area felt physically cooler. I called Mary to take measurements, nothing.

While we were talking, a male came in. He felt uncomfortable, didn’t like “peeping tom” phrase. EMF started to go off.

Homeowner and friend came in and Denise sensed sorrow coming from the entity. He felt badly for someone going through a hard time.
Denise: This is a male relative. He wants to check in on you – he values your privacy. He checks in on you then backs off. He sticks his head in and sees where you are, comes closer, closer, then backs away.
Homeowner:
I have often felt close to my great-grandfather, Cronin (similar to Cameron?)
I have felt someone outside looking in – a Native American.
I dreamt of Florida before I moved here. I saw Ft. Desoto and the Sunshine Skyway before I moved to the area.
I wondered if there was anything going on in my bedroom and hallway area – that is where I have a picture of my family.

Pinellas Point House

My second ghost hunt.
We split off into teams and I went with Jeanne, Denise and Debbie.
We started outside in the front yard, where I was drawn to the old tree. I definitely felt an energy radiating around the tree, which was probably due to its majestic age. (I did take one picture -without the flash- pointing toward the street light which shows a light anomaly -- but I tend to think it is probably a reflection of something in the area.)
We proceeded inside the house and investigated the garage and other rooms of the house.
I was drawn to the old photographs displayed in the hallway. Jeanne and I paused a moment to look at them.
In the office, I did take a picture that had an orb in it.
Otherwise, I turned up nothing unusual on the hunt.

Conclusion: This was a fairly mild hunt, and I had no orbs in any of my images. What amazes me is the EMF, which continues to behave in more of a dowsing rod manner. The MA bedroom had the most activity and I continually checked the meter and the area to verify that nothing was amiss. The homeowner later pointed out the wires in the closet, and Mary was able to back me that we had found those wires and tested them.
I do feel that the bedroom area felt differently than the rest of the house. There was nothing unpleasant; just a different energy.
Overall, I find no harmful energy in the area.

Jeanne's report
Seven members of the SPIRITS were present for this investigation. We divided into two groups and went in opposite directions. I was with Debbie, Shaun, and Denise. We started in the front yard. It was quite cold outside, so we didn't linger long. Back inside, we walked through the garage, sun room, kitchen, living room, and bedrooms. I got no unusual EMF readings anywhere in the house. When we met with the other group, we sat in the sun room and tried a question and answer session with the EMF meter and recording devices. Denise heard the name Cameron, or something similar. She said that she thought that he was a relative who likes to peek in now and then. He seemed shy, or maybe just respectful of the homeowner's privacy. We got some spikes to questions, but he didn't hang around long. When I listened to my recording of the session later, I heard no EVPs. I took about 50 digital pictures, and got only one with a faint orb above the table of food. That photo was taken when Debbie asked if he would like to be in our photos.

E-mail from homeowner:
Last night in between being awake and sleeping I had a vision of a "one man band" my parents had many years in the basement of our first house. It was so long ago that they cannot even believe I remember it. I saw it and then that was it. I thought, OK, it must be a hint.
I just called my Dad and I asked him who's it was and he said Uncle John. His brother was Uncle John Sunday, yet he said that this was Uncle John Cronin's. They took it out of his house after he died. So, this was my Mother's Uncle. I asked if he was in any of the pictures in my hall and my Mom did not know. Then I saw a man hiding in the back with Great Grandpa in this picture, so I took it out of the frame...it is John Cronin!
The picture was taken in 1915, John Cronin was born in 1895. 1915 - 1895 = 20!!!!!!!
He was 20 years old in the picture! I do not know if this means anything, but I thought it was ODD! I guess Great Grandpa and his son John were very close. Great Grandpa entered many Irish dance competitions and John would go with to all of them.
