Learn to interpret and understand your dreams and the dreams of others.
The College of Metaphysical Studies course Dreams – The Secret Language of Sleep will start at the Clearwater Campus, 18514 U.S. 19 N., on Tuesday, May 20th, at 7:00 to 9:00PM. Classes are based on a 6-session plan (6-weeks on and 1-week off). Tuition will be $15.00 per weekly class session with $45.00 payable at registration and $45.00 due every 3rd week unless otherwise specified. Special financial arrangements can be made, in advance, on a case-to-case basis. Instructor is Dr. Patricia Fogelsonger.
Dreams help us to understand ourselves, other people and those difficult situations in which we find ourselves. They show us glimpses of the future, solve our problems and help us heal ourselves. We all dream! The difference between a dreamer and a supposed non-dreamer is that one remembers his dreams whereas the other doesn't. We sleep on average for one third of each day and by the time we are 75 years old we have slept for 25 of these years and for at least 10 of them we have been dreaming. This is a lot of dreaming, but we still do not really know what a dream is nor, for that matter, what sleep is.
Generally, we think of dreams as visual experiences but what of non-visual dreams? We have five senses and sight is only one of these. We have what is often called a sixth sense including intuitiveness and psychic awareness. To the ancients, dreams were messages from the gods and even from God Himself. Today they are regarded as emotional expressions from our innermost selves. Since dreams reflect life in all its many aspects from the mundane to the mysterious, both the beliefs of the ancients and those of modern psychiatrists are correct in their own way and from their different standpoints, for dreams are all things to all people.
Dreams are personal messages from ourselves to ourselves so the best person to interpret and understand them is the dreamer who created them. This doesn't mean that someone else cannot discover the messages hidden in another's dream, because they can. What they cannot do is to apply that message with its personal associations to the dreamer's own situation or circumstances. Only the dreamer can do this. When interpreting dreams for others we should not impose our own association of ideas, onto their dream messages. The interpretation of dreams is only one aspect of the concept of dreaming. Dreams are sources of great wisdom and guidance and there is much we can do to delve into this reservoir and receive answers to problems. Having the right dream at the right time can help with practical problems just as easily as it can bring flashes of enlightenment and inspiration from heavenly heights.
