Mary's Report

Conditions:   Rainy, cool

Equipment:   Digital cameras,  EMF meters, digital recorders, digital thermometer, video camera laptop with EVP detection software

Present:       Evie. Sally. Debbie, Mary and the homeowner

The investigation was conducted in a neighborhood near the Belleview Biltmore.  While Debbie was setting up her equipment in the living room, Sally and I walked into the Master bedroom.  Immediately upon entering the room the atmosphere had a different feeling than the other part of the house. Evie, Debbie and the homeowner joined us. There was a definite coolness on the left side of the bed. Temperature readings fluctuated rapidly going from 67 to 61 within minutes.  The right side of the bed remained at a constant temperature. The air conditioning had been turned off and there was no other possible source for a draft that could have accounted for the change.  Debbie also thought that she saw a shadow-like figure move quickly within a small hallway leading to the bathroom of the master bedroom.

Evie came up with the name JOHN while working with the EMPF meter in an attempt to interact with any entity that might be in the room with us.  There were small EMF spikes that were inconclusive.  I felt like the entity may watch the homeowner as she works at her computer at times standing a distance behind her.  I also picked up a name beginning with an "H"....perhaps and "HA" such as Harold, etc.  We all felt that the presence was male. Debbie felt that there may be 2 male presences or one "that moved very fast" from room to room.

While setting up her equipment, Debbie felt a large thick energy field near a folding screen in the living room. Later she felt the same sensation while sitting in a chair which the homeowner later revealed was her chair and that she had experienced several things while sitting there to include lots of static while on her phone. Evie and Debbie reported spikes in the EMF meter when doing readings in the same area of the screen. In pictures that I took, 2 orbs appear near that area.

When we moved back into the living room. the name LILA came to me as we were discussing our findings with the homeowner.  At this time she confirmed that she had activity that had occurred in both the bedroom at the same spot where the temperatures so drastically dropped. She reported a reddish orb that appears in that general vicinity very early in the morning and feels that the entity associated with it is angry. She does not feel that it means to harm her and has told it frequently to leave her alone. 

We later learned during the disclosure that she has had objects moved such as candles removed from candlesticks during the night and an exercise ball that moved by itslef on more than one occasion in the bedroom.   She also stated that a man who was a friend of her father's that had literally saved her life when she was an infant. and who is now passed on, was named James.

We have agreed to do a recheck on this home at a later time.

Evie's report:

This was a spur of the moment investigation that not all members were able to attend.  Mary, Debbie, Evie and Sally met the homeowner at 6:30 and opened the investigation.  The weather was cloudy with off and on sprinkles, humid and warm.  The house was located very close to the water so that could be an influence on our equipment also.  There were no overhead powerlines, all utilities were underground.

I was using a digital thermometer, an EMF meter and my digital camera.  The house was about 2,000 sq ft divided into 1 bedroom, a tv room, living room, dining room, kitchen and two bathrooms plus a patio that ran the length of the building.  In the middle of the living room, I found a huge EMF spot that made my meter go off the chart but it went away after about 45 seconds and I could not trace it.  The temperature was actually warmer in the area.  There was no wiring or other things that could have caused the meter react like it did.

In the bedroom, I kept getting spikes and lower temperatures at the right foot of the bed nearest the doorway.  I felt that someone was standing at the foot of the bed watching and the name John or a "J" name came to mind.  We attempted to make contact by using the EMF meter.  Sometimes we can ask questions and if there is energy there, the meter will spike in response to certain questions.  We did not get any conclusive evidence with the meter.

After the investigation, we went back in the living room and sat down with the home owner and discussed what we found.  The homeowner told us she had lost a very good friend whose name was James.  When we were in the bedroom, I had felt a sense of protection at the foot of the bed. 

The homeowner wakes up at night and sees a red ball over her bed or sometimes on the wall.  She said it doesn't freighten her, she just wishes it would go away and let her have a good nights sleep.  I was wondering if maybe something was shining in the window from the water at night because she tells me it is always in the same place. The drapes are kind of shear and I think it is possible for light to filter through.

Out of 16 pictures, I did not have one orb.  I did have a very interesting picture that turned out to be the leaf of a plant sitting on the cabinet but nothing else unusual or out of the ordinary.

We closed the hunt as usual about 8:30 thanking any spirits who might be present and asking them not to follow us,

October 27, 2007 – Undisclosed private investigation

Debbie’s Report

Present for the investigation:  Myself, Evie, Mary, potential member Sally and the homeowner.

The investigation began shortly after 6:30 p.m.  I set up my camcorder in the living room.  The back wall of this room has a floor to ceiling mirror running the length of the room.  Behind the wall is the elevator, which does produce a popping or thumping type sound when it is activated.  The homeowner is very familiar with this sound from her 4-years residency of this home and is able to distinguish this noise from another thumping and banging noise that was heard during the investigation.  Evie captured rather high EMF readings on this back wall.  The higher EMF field does not bleed more than a few inches into the living room.

Between the dinning area and the living room I encountered a very strong energy field that literally felt like ants running along my arms, face, chest and back.  It remained stationary for a short period of time.  Evie brought her EMF meter to this spot and she recorded higher emf readings.  She was able to track the strength of the readings by moving the meter in and out and around this energy spot.  The homeowner confirmed that the unit upstairs is currently unoccupied.   The energy spot disappeared shortly afterwards but it did return later in the investigation.

Moving into the bedroom and standing in the doorway of the master bedroom I again encountered the same energy level as if it enfolded itself around me.  I called for SPIRITS member, Mary, to come and join me but no further activity took place.  When Evie and Sally also came to this room with the homeowner, who stood in the doorway this time.  The homeowner remarked that she had suddenly gotten very cold and I snapped four pictures.  The first two pictures held no phenomena but the last two photos held a streak of light that was first on the bedroom door than appearing on the wall just off the door.  Though this appears to be a simple light streak I have to consider the homeowner’s report of a cold spot at the same time and this may indicate that the light streaks are paranormal in nature.   At one point in the investigation in the Master Bedroom, I saw a fast moving shadow go from right to left in the short hallway to the master bath and in front of the draping leading into the bathroom itself.  It moves very quickly and there was not time to record this phenomenon.  This is the first shadow person I have seen since beginning paranormal investigations with this group. 

Moving back into the living room I had a strong impression to just sit quietly in the room, wait and that activity would present itself.  As I sat in a chair opposite and away from the wall, which contains the elevator shaft, I again felt the very strong energy of the entity move to my left side, feeling it primarily over my left arm and shoulder, as if it was looking over my shoulder.  This third encounter of energy is comparable to the same energy level I experienced at the Cypress investigation at the beginning of the year.  The strength of the energy seems to be of that same level but I was unable to determine if this energy was either malevolent or benevolent in nature.  

I rejoined the group in the bedroom for a bit more investigating then we compared our notes and did a short EVP session in the living room.  I felt no additional interaction by the entity’s energy. 

The homeowner reports several items that have been moved, such as candles taken out of their candlestick holders and laid down on the same table.  She is very meticulous with placement of items within her home and twice this situation has developed.  This took place once on the kitchen table, once on the living room table.  Also, a specific salt and pepper shake in the kitchen, though not moved from one spot to the other, has been repositioned.  Since this set of salt and pepper shaker are figurines it is very easy to tell what direction they are facing and the homeowner likes them to be facing in a certain direction.   There are times when they will appear facing differently than she has placed them.  The homeowner also mentions that the apparition of a pretty little girl has been witnessed twice in the residence.   She further describes that a ball of red light appears almost weekly in her bedroom between the hours of 1-4:00 a.m.  It somehow wakens her and she can feel the intensity of the energy.  Though this phenomenon in itself is most interesting, the homeowner reports she had previously witnessed that similar red orb in the last home she lived in which was up north.  She ended up having the house blessed and the red orb did not return after the blessing.  Now, in this new home, she again is witnessing the red orb.  The question now is, is this red orb entity attached to the homeowner?  The homeowner does appear to have some latent sensitivity recognized by some other paranormal encounters she has had.  Though she states she does not feel afraid of the red orb’s appearances she is disturbed by it and she has made plans to have her current home blessed. 

I have captured two evps from this investigation as well.  One evp seems to say, “come forth or come forward”, in response to my asking whoever was present to come forward to interact with us.  The other evp is of the more common “get out” variety.  Both evps are at best class B recordings.  I also have recorded the thumping sounds we all heard during the investigation.  There were sounds of footsteps heard by us coming from the vacant upstairs unit as well but these failed to record on any of my equipment. 

Brandy:

While I did not attend the investigation, I did loan some of my equipment and speak with the homeowner.  I found out that the homeowner has someone coming in to bless the home.  She also learned that one of the prior own'er's wives died in the home.  She probably died in the 1980s.

From homeowner: I slept in the kitchen Thursday night and I got up at 2:30 a.m. to turn on the TV in the bedroom, that is the only time I got up.  I turned Brandy's camera on around 10:30 or 11:00 p.m. and it ran out of tape at some point later.  I don't think where  we had Brandy's camera placed it would have picked me up walking out of the kitchen when I turned it on it was facing the formal side of the living room and the yellow screen.

Reviewing the video:  The first hour had some sounds, including wind blowing outside and light thumps.  I dismissed those as related to the homeowner; after a time they settled and I could hear her breathing off screen.  However, at the end of the tape (about 2 hours after the tape started) there were several sounds of movement.  This would put the tape recording at approximately 12:00 - 12:30 a.m.  Noises included thunks, shuffling sounds, and rusteling, though I am doubtful that it is the homeowner as her breathing  indicates that she is in one location.  The sounds were recorded (when video started at 11) at 4:01, 4:03, 4:19, 4:20 (this was actually what sounded like fingers drumming.  It occurred three times), 4:26, and 4:32.  The final minute of the video the rusteling was incredibly loud -- as if something were happening right off camera.  The tape came to an end right in the middle of this noise.

The homeowner did bring in someone to clear the room and the home.  Mary is following up to see how this is going.

Addendum report:

Mary's report:

Evie, Denise and I went out to set up 2 video cameras on the night of Nov 1 to see if activity could be captured on film or by audio of what the homeowner had reported. Brandy's camera was pointed into the living room in the general direction of the screen where activity had been reported on our previous visit.  Denise's camera was in the master bedroom.  The homeowner did not sleep in either room that night. 

During the visit, Denise also attempted to learn more about the entities that were there,  At the time of our visit, however, neither was present.  She did feel that the male energy who presents himself to the homeowner as a red orb is a drop-in and not harmful to the homeowner.  He is angry at himself instead.  He does come and go with the orb appearing usually between 2:30 and 4:30 am.  Denise also picked up a name beginning with an 'H' in the bedroom, but gave the name Helen.  Denise also picked up the presence of a young girl, age not clear, who was attached to the homeowner.  This was in the living room area.  EMF readings got rather high in that general area much as they had the previous visit.  There was no determined natural explanation. 

The homeowner turned the camera on in the living room about 10:15-10:30 pm and went to bed and then got up about 2:15 am to turn on the bedroom camera. 

In a follow-up email from the homeowner, the cleansing went well.  It now remains to be seen if there is any further activity
