The SPIRITS team was called out to look into a haunting in North Tampa.  What the homeowner originally described to the person who set up the investigation and what occurred were two radically different situations.  The home, which was a relatively small area to work with, held big surprises for the SPIRITS team. 

Phenomena started as soon as the group arrived.  Sensitives felt light headed walking through the front door.  EMF began to fluctuate wildly and areas of coolness were felt, though the air conditioner was already shut off. 

There appeared to be multiple entities within the area.  The two most prominent were a young woman who followed the group, a "masked force" (an entity that did not interact with the group) created by a vortex of energy in the hallway, second bedroom and bathroom, and third possible spirit of a young girl in the second bedroom.

The woman's shade was the most active with the group.  Oddly, she took to a new piece of equipment that the team was using:  a trifield EMF meter with built in alarm.  It allowed the basic EMF of a location to serve as the baseline.  Any time that EMF rose above the basic house reading, an alarm sounded. 

This entity, apparently, was using the meter to project her thoughts.  In one room, an investigator, having made a side comment about "moving out of the room" heard the words "bye-bye" as the meter beeped.  In the second bedroom, the group focused on her presence. As the group recorded an EVP session we tried to determine the specter's last known age.  The meter did not respond conclusively.  Finally, someone asked directly, "How old are you?" at which point the meter did a series of beeps.  Several people present, one of whom is not sensitive, reported that they clearly heard the words "Twenty-two" imprinted over the meter's beeps.

The investigation continued into the master bedroom.  The ghost realized that she was deceased but would not give a solid answer to how she died.  One person, recording the exchange on video recorder, asked if she had committed suicide.  Immediately, the video camera shut down.  It worked well before the question was asked and when reactivated did not shut down again.  The device had been plugged in to ensure that the power would not be interrupted.  There were no apparent signs of electronic disruption throughout the rest of the home.   Sensitives felt that the entity was a suicide but was in denial about her death; as such she reacted so strongly to the question that she shut the camera down.

After the investigation, the homeowner described a series of disturbing events.  She felt that a supernatural force had followed her through her past two homes.  She had witnessed items moving, felt threatened, and was constantly fatigued.  After moving into the newest location things seemed to be settled.  However, she started to see a male entity sitting next to her bed glaring at her.  Items were disappearing and reappearing of their own accord, and she, again, felt quite threatened.

The homeowner, after the investigation, verified that she had a family member who committed suicide 30 years prior.  The description that SPIRITS sensitives reported possibly matched what this woman looked like.

Beyond that, it is difficult for the group to determine the exact source of the phenomena.  The location had no known haunted activity.  However, the strange vortex that sensitives felt in the back half of the property indicated that some sort of paranormal activity was occurring.  Based upon what the homeowner described, the team believes that something may have attached itself to the homeowner several years prior.  It continues to follow her from home to home, taking time out to manifest its own energy pattern (the vortex).  Through the vortex, other entities, possibly "lost souls," also manifest.

The homeowner, prior to the SPIRITS visit, started to use blessed water and holy oil to anoint different areas of her home.  The SPIRITS suggested that she work with her clergy to have herself, and her home, blessed.  To date, she reports that the clergy will not come to her home and will not offer any assistance.  She is attempting to appeal higher up the religious hierarchy for help.

Waxing moon, alleged geomagnetic storm.

Investigators:  David, Denise, Linda, Scott, Brandy

Others:  Homeowners Janice, James, 2 cats 2 turtles.

Note:  One special feature of this investigation was the EMF meter used.  It is a trifield meter with a built-in alarm.  I set the meter for the basic house reading so that it beeps at any spikes.  The notes below record questions, EMF spikes and the beeps that accompany them.

Living room:

81-83

while in the livingroom we had 3 small spikes to .4 EMF

Scott reports 0 carbon monoxide in the home.

Bedroom 1:

EMF .2 - .6 (continual spikes)

Tested patterns; 1, 2, 3, spikes, witnessed; random times; 10 seconds, 15 second later, 30 seconds later, 15 seconds later, etc.

Sold siren near the door; alarm clocks the reason for that (wiring in area).

I mentioned that we were moving out of the room; two beeps (I "heard" "beep-beep"  or "bye-bye" when the beeps occurred)

Sporadic beeps from EMF; continual spikes.  Scott reports cold air in closet, probably natural phenomena.  Unable to record readings in bathroom because of the lighting; too hot for an accurate temperature reading. 

Noted meter was beeping; tried to ask:  Is anyone present? One beep (spike in EMF); Male? pause, two beeps.  Female? pause, one beep.  Are you a girl? pause, no reaction; under 8, under 12, under 15, no reaction.  How old are you?  Twenty?  Two beeps; two investigators heard "Twenty-two"I was one of the two.  While I am not psy-sensitive, this was very strange.  I heard the words very clearly through the beeps of the meter; one long beep followed by a short beep, then a second beep.  Concentrate in the line (needle) and push it towards me.  Needle responded and pushed to the right; beep heard.  I am going to say a series of names and you let me know which one is right.  Larua?  Laurie?  Evonne (Beep).  David also asked about Emily? Beep.

Entity hesitant to let us leave; we promised we would be back.

Investigator's observations:

Linda:  chills in room; sensation of "orange sherbet"unknown reason why.

(EMF meter, on and set on table, suddenly spiked 3 times to 1.5)

Scott:  closet:  temperature change; couldn't reveal much because he set up the investigation.

David:  Felt the room was hot and stuffy when he came in; the air was heavy.  Had a slight headache.  Reported that temperature readings were consistent.

Bedroom 1:  Sensed a female entity; closet in office area, felt tired.  Asking questions, and with the delay in response, he felt he was getting an answer; when he got an "answer" the meter would beep in response.

Also sensed an abstract presence; something cloaked and not revealing itself to us.

Denise:  Tired at this point in the investigation.  As soon as she came in she felt very light headed, felt an energy pulling from her.  She saw a woman in her 20's with straight hair, with the name Evonne or an "E" name.  Evonne was following us since we first arrived.  There is a second energy, Joline (?), Jo for short, that was also there but hidden.  She felt that the bathroom in bedroom one was a place of voyeurism; people were being watched there.  She didn't like the closet in the second bedroom; it felt dark and small -- claustrophobic; she felt an energy vortex, a circular energy, in the area. 

Beeps continued on meter; asked more questions:

Are you from this area?  No response.  Investigators: "I get Europe", "I get Asia", "I got Africa."

Did you travel a lot?  Beep.

There is a year that is important to you1969? EMF Spike, jump from .2 to 1.0.

Did you go to college? Pause.  USF? University of Tampa? Harvard? Yale?

(Meter was unresponsive).

Brandy's observations:  Felt cooler in the house.  Though the a/c was off and windows were closed, the rooms felt considerably cooler to me the longer we were there.  Felt a cold spot on my right hand, especially in bedroom 2.  Speculated that I may not be psi-sensitive, but I was probably a good psy-battery and I felt a slow drain here.  (I have had these sensations on and off for the past 5 years but only on investigations).  I felt I was being used to give the entity energy.  Also heard the words "Beep-beep" or "bye-bye," "Twenty-two", and "Yes" from time to time when the meter beeped. 

Investigators wanted to look into bedrooms 1 and 2.  Since the entity was possibly also responsive we asked it where to start.

Which room do you want us to go back and investigate?  That one?  (Pointing to bedroom one). That one?  (bedroom 2).  Confusing answer.  We stopped, then asked again, pointing to the rooms one at a time.  The meter beeped with bedroom 2.

Recheck:

Bedroom 2: 

Reset the EMF meterI put the alarm slightly above a .2 for EMF. 

Vortex; the entity also sensed it.  She liked people in the room; it made her feel better.  She felt that she was alone a lot of the time.  However, she was tired; she wanted us to go into the other room.  (Speculation:  We said we'd go back to that room so she wanted us in that room to start out; we fulfilled our promise).

Bedroom 1:  She was happy to be acknowledged.  She pulls on emotion, but wanted to know "What do I do now?"  She did see the white light, but she was scared of the light.  (I felt a coolness on my arms).  I asked how she diedDid you commit suicide? The video camera that I had, which I plugged into the wall and that had been working well all night, shut off completely.  It worked well the remainder of the night, and I had no further problems with it.  Sensitives reported that she was offended by the question.  I apologized and we moved on.

She died of natural causes (Leukemia?)

She was associated with Laurie or Glory, her grandmother?  She was raised by her grandmother; her parents traveled.  She lived in Tampa, spending time here, but also traveled with her family.  She traveled on and off as a young child with her parents (I started to get a headache).

The entity was upset with the way her grandmother's estate had been treated; she saw her grandmother die as a ghost and heard her grandmother call to her from the white light, but she was afraid to go.

She wasn't very religious, like her grandmother was.

She wanted to get something from her grandmother; I asked homeowner if she had anything from her grandmother; she did have a few things.

Every time the word "grandmother" was mentioned, the EMF meter beeped.  There was a connection, but questioning homeowner did not bring any relevant answers (until later).

She wanted advice on the white light; we advised that she try to go to it.  We concluded our session.

Interview of homeowner:

Homeowner has had past hauntings.  First apartment in Tampa was an area of extreme hauntings of demonic nature.  She saw boxes move, food cook, felt threatened, and finally moved out.  Found out from other neighbors that a prior resident had beaten and killed one woman living with him in that apartment. 

Second apartment: phenomena started on the outside and started to work its way in.  She and her boyfriend (who was present) prayed over the apartment and got rid of at least one entity, but haunting activity continued.

Lived in this apartment for 5 months; minor phenomena followed her.  A week and a half ago, however, when she was home sick for the day, she had a very vivid dream of a man in a brown orange shirt, very tall man, very hostile, very ugly with long black hair.  He started at her.  She has had nightmares (torture, meat hooks in flesh, etc.).  She felt watched in her room and bathroom and found cold areas in the bedroom and the closet.

Other phenomena:  She has had clothing and other items disappear and reappear.  She has had objects thrown around (prior residence).  The lights are constantly flickering.  She has had static on the telephone with voices fading in and out; growling and screeching sounds, she has had white noise, voices, footsteps, furniture moving in the area.  The cats also notice things; they rarely go into bedroom 2.  Her computer turns on and off on its own. 

Physical phenomena; She has headaches and weakness inside her home.  She feels fine outside. 

To quote: "The hosts definitely express their feelings of unhappiness and anger in the [area]."

Observer's conclusions:

I believe that there are multiple layers of phenomena going on.   Homeowner has chronic fatigue syndrome and a busy work schedule (we were only able to schedule for a particular day of the week). 

I think that there was a negative entity in her first apartment that has latched onto her.  The area is not haunted so much as she is.  Since phenomena manifest each time she moves to a new location, it is either attached to something she owns or it is attached to her.  Most believe it is attached to her.

The entity may be a succubus in nature, draining her energy.  Though she has attempted to fight it off (Holy Water in the bed, sage, herbs, etc.) she may not be consistent enough in her demands.  Advise that she be blessed by a priest, and have the home blessed. She needs to stand up for herself; other suggestions included playing Christian music and bringing in blessed artifacts.

The negative entity may be creating a vortex that attracts and traps other spirits in the area. 

Post investigation information:  Homeowner found out that she did have a relative in the past that had committed suicide in the 1960's.  The woman suffered from mental illness and did commit suicide.  So, we may have been on the right track asking about any relatives that had died and their relationship to the homeowner.

Overall, this was a very strange investigation.  The power of the entity to respond and project itself was incredible.  I think that she was a suicide in denial; it would explain her reluctance to go to the other side and the great objection she had to the question.  We have not had such an active EMF-based investigation in quite some time.

When I reviewed the videotape I didn't hear the "words" I reported above.  Sensitives believe that she was doing a "thought projection" over the beeps, which may have been so. 

I do believe that I am a power battery for entities; they drain my energy.  Though we ate prior to the investigation and I had not been hungry for most of the day, I was starved afterwards and had to stop and eat again.  (We just ate 3-4 hours before). 

I'm sorry that I didn't have my digital camera for this investigation.  It would have been interesting to see what the results might have been.

The night after the investigation, I was very tired (which bled into the next day).  I had a restless night; I woke up twice with fear, turning on the TV the first time.  I thought I heard someone whisper "Success" whispered in my ear during the night.  It was a most unique experience overall.

Upon first entering this apartment, I immediately felt a "bad vibe."

Often I get a general ambient energy feeling in places.  Sometimes

it's really positive, sometimes it's not.  Most of the time, it's

pretty neutral.  In this case, there was a negative energy in this

place.  Fortunately, however, it seemed to go away shortly after we

arrived.  Myself and other psy-sensitives in the group sensed an

entity that was present, but hiding itself from us.

In the first bedroom, our EMF meter started acting strange.  Seemingly

random, but semi-frequent spikes on the meter caught our attention.  I

also sensed a female presence in this room, but wasn't able to

identify any specific details.

Later in the second bedroom, the EMF continued registering unusual

spikes.  We were able to identify the female spirit, who seemed to be

very skillful at using the EMF meter to answer our questions.

In the course of the investigation, we gathered that this female

entity died around age 22, apparently in the year 1969.  The tenants

later confirmed that someone in their family tree history committed

suicide at that age, around that time.

After our investigation was complete, we spoke with the tenants and

discussed their experiences.  They had experienced a much more

negative entity.  The information they shared suggested that an evil

spirit, potentially something demonic in nature, had followed one of

the tenants from a previous residency.  The psy-sensitives in the

group collectively agreed that the "hidden" entity was most likely

this negative spirit.  We advised the tenants on actions they can take

to prevent further harassment from the entity.  Such actions included

getting the apartment blessed by clergy, bringing in white light,

playing positive religious music, and perhaps most importantly,

standing up from themselves and refusing to allow it to bother them

any more.

Well, this was a very interesting hunt and it left me with several questions.  First, can ghosts intentionally lie about their life on earth, who they were and what they had accomplished?  Second, can ghosts actually interact with equipment enough to answer using syllables?  Both of these seem to have occurred during this somewhat unusual hunt.

Due to this hunt being at an acquaintance's home, I had not shielded myself due to believing that all was fine.  I could not have been more wrong.  I left myself completely open for the entities (good or bad) to drain me of all my energy.  From the minute I walked into the home, I felt lightheaded, out of breath and had a headache. 

While we were sitting in the living room, preparing to start the investigation, I felt that there was a female in her twenties standing behind Scott.  She was a thinner female with longer straight darker hair.  The hair went below her shoulders.  I also received the name Evon at this time.

When entering bedroom number one I was still light headed and felt the female following us around.  There was another energy, strong, but cloaked.  He would not show itself during the entire investigation.  While in this room, I heard the name Jolene or Joe for short.  The bathroom, which is connected to bedroom number one, felt as if there was a voyeur inside.  I believed that the people using this restroom always felt as if they were being watched.  Inside the bathroom, I heard the names Glory, Gloria/Lori.

In bedroom number two I could feel like there was a circular vortex that surrounded the bedroom, went into the attached bathroom, out towards the hallway, through a hall closet and into the bedroom closet, making a complete circle.  The vortex was moving in a clockwise motion.  There was also a very negative energy surrounding this vortex.  It was like standing in the middle of a flushing toilet.

As we talked with the female energy it was obvious from the EMF that she was quite anxious to speak with us.  When asking questions she would actively beep the EMF meter once for yes and twice for no.  She also seemed to answer with simultaneous beeps, which were consistent with syllables.  It was very interesting.

At the end of the investigation and during the homeowner's interview, it was determined that a negative energy, possibly demonic, had attached itself to her.  I felt that he was the one who started the vortex.  I also felt he was the energy that was cloaking itself during the investigation. 

I also obtained information that the homeowners did have a female family member who committed suicide.  She matched the physical appearance of the female I saw.  In addition, this made sense with some of the information that the team received.  It appeared she had lied about her life, saying she was a world traveler and had died of a disease.  She had turned Brandy's camera off when asked about suicide.  This indicates she did not like the question.  In addition, she discussed being attached to the grandmother of the homeowner.  This indicated that she was related. 

At the conclusion, I am comfortable that the female entity we encountered was the family member who committed suicide in the 60's.  The time frame matched as well as specific information the entity gave us.  Now this left the question that had obviously been answered.  Can entities lie?  Evidently, "Yes."
