Now that Hallowe'en approaches, many of you may wonder how a ghost might manifest.  One of the most common forms of paranormal activity  manifest as shadowy figures that move on their own.

If experienced, this can be most unsettling.  It is enough to make the receiver wonder if the home does contain more than meets the eye.  Yet, at the same time, it is not enough to fully say that there *IS* something there.  These manifestations are the ones, at first, most often explained away as tricks of light, fatigue, or nerves. 

Over time, this type of occurrence can cease as the household settles.  If not, they can continue to evolve into a more interactive entity, sometimes as a fully manifest form complete with spectral outfits, personality, and quirks.

This was part of the phenomena experienced at an investigation at 7th Ave. North in St. Petersburg. 

The homeowner saw shadows that appeared to change size.  At first, it was the height of a small child.  Later, it was so small that she mistook it for the family cat, until she realized the feline had recently died and there were no other pets in the household.

As friends and co-workers came to visit, they, too, reported similar experiences.  Some actually saw the shadow in the form of an older woman, others as a middle aged woman with long brown hair.  One person who spent the night in the back bedroom was awakened by the forms of a couple, a man and a woman, standing over the bed. 

The paranormal incidents continued to escalate.  Shortly after the shadow figures manifested, smooth river rocks were discovered in the closet of the back bedroom.  No one knows how they arrived there; the family did not keep any for analysis.

Eventually, those who slept in the back bedroom were now subject to spells of the bed shaking until they were awakened.  Subsequently, that area was abandoned by the living for more hospitable quarters.

Even this did not stop the activity entirely.  Though she moved her bed to the room furthest to the front of the home, the homeowner still felt as if she were being watched in the home.  She also had the sensation of someone breathing on her at night while she tried to sleep.  She felt drained whenever she went into the home, and finally moved the family from the dwelling.

The SPIRITS were called in to investigate.

Upon arriving at the location, several sensed an immediate energy shift upon entering the house.  The atmosphere was heavy, oppressive, and very active.

Sensitives found multiple personalities in the house.  In the back bedroom they sensed an older woman who appeared to be a former homeowner and was "lost" in the house.  She was unhappy and weeping; sensitives were able to point out areas where she "stood" and subsequent photographs manifested orbs typically associated with paranormal activity. 

EMFalso registered near the back doorway, leading out of the room and into the backyard.  No wiring could be found in the area and the fuse box was located on the other side of the home. 

After a short time, she vanished and remained hidden for the remainder of the investigation.

Sensitives also caught a brief glimpse of a younger middle aged woman standing in the same room.  She manifested briefly but did not maintain any form of presence. 

The third manifestation was the most unsettling.  A male presence manifested and "spoke" only to the male member of the team present.  He disliked the women present.

The sensitive reported hearing "Where's Johnny," the name of the homeowner's boyfriend.  The name was unknown to the team, no pictures were present, and the boyfriend was not present on the premises at the time.

His life was that of a very tough man:  he was a mechanic, a former Marine, and his death was due to a motorcycle accident that occurred some distance away from the house.  The homeowner often traveled that stretch of road, which is how he found her.  He was a "tag along" that "followed her home" shortly after his death. 

He reported that he constantly shadowed the homeowner, herself, in the home.  He reported watching her as she slept, possibly the source of the "breathing" sensation that she reported after the investigation ended. 

He became physically violent towards the male member of the team, squeezing the back of his neck and creating a heavy sensation on his body.  Pictures taken during this time show orb images across the man and odd shadows behind him.

Historical research did not find any deaths in that home and the land had a history typical to Florida:  it was once an orange grove.  Though the sensitive did receive a name for the male entity it was too common to pinpoint a single individual through research.  More information was needed to do a thorough historical search.

So, if you happen to see any meandering shadows through your home, remember to pay them some heed.  At least stand aside as they pass.  You never know who, exactly, they may be.

I have witnessed as well as several other people a shadowy figure that walks up and down the hallway and it also enters the bathroom.

I have seen a shadow that is small (child sized) that walks the hall.  And I have seen something even smaller that I almost mistook for my cat (after she died).

Peripheral vision manifestations?

Yes.

I personally have never witnessed anything that looked like an actual person, though others have. One friend saw a small old woman in the red bedroom, another witnessed a tall thin woman about 50 with long brown hair in a dark skirt in the red bedroom.  A family member was awakened by a man and woman standing over her when she slept in the red bedroom.

Cold drafts?

More like static electricity in the air.

Possible apportation.  Family members discovered smooth black rocks in a closet (red bedroom) once.  Did not keep any for analysis, but do not know how they got there.

Pre-investigation:

1st room off of Living room: 74-75 degrees

Living room: 71 degrees

Kitchen: 71 degrees

Laundry room: 69-70 degrees

Hallway: someone following me.

Bathroom: 71 degrees

Monster room: 69-70 degrees Hard to breath.

Maroon room: 69-70 degrees

1st room off of Living room: 74-80 degrees

Monster room: 71-80 degrees emf was in caution range.

feeling, started to cry @ 7:40 p.m. for no apparent reason, got very cold, goose

bumps, heard someone talking to me, having a conversation with me.

Living room: 69 degrees Brandy was talking with the owner of the house gong over the different things that has happened to her and her experiences when someone was having another conversation with me so I got up and went into the Monster room to get my camcorder and it was turned to the off position. Brought it back into the living room put it between Denise and myself since it has a microphone on it and it picks up pretty well and the is a "Voice" on it talking to me, can't make out what he is asking me. But it sounds like "Where is Amy?"

I have pictures with something on them but in the front room there is so much reflection coming off of the mirror and fan can't tell what is what.

On the camcorder in the Monster room there is something walking in front of the camera causing it to go in and out of focus when there is no one in the room; this is captured on the film.

Conversations are picked up as we move in the other rooms.

Then the camera just shuts off like they don't want us to see or hear them.

The last images are when I come in and move it to the L.R. and turn it back on.

Denise report

7th Ave. North

On Feb. 23, of this year myself, Brandy, Cindy, Amelia and Scott arrived at 7th Avenue North in St. Petersburg and began a very interesting ghost hunt.  The hunt was psychically eventful, but we did not get too many scientific measurements.  The psychic information that we retrieved was validated by the homeowner, Phoebe.  There were also many photographs that showed orbs in the same locations where we stated a spirit would be, therefor validating some of the psychic information retrieved.

On the first loop around the residence I took silent scientific measurements only.  The house was a consistent sixty-nine to seventy-four degrees.  I did not obtain any EMF readings that could not be explained.  Upon entering the red bedroom, located in the northwest corner of the home, I felt a strong sorrow coming from the corner.  Also during the first walk through I was confronted by an entity in the front bedroom standing in the corner next to the bed.   He firmly told me not to come any closer to him and that he did not want me there.  Respectfully I walked out of the bedroom and decided to wait until we had finished our silent rounds before I spoke with the entity any further. 

After concluding the two silent walk through, first for scientific readings, second for silent psychic connections,  we began our open communications with the entities in the home.  I sensed a woman in the northwest corner bedroom, but she disappeared quite quickly as if she did not want to be involved with the hunt or even want us to see her.  In this same bedroom I made contact with an elderly woman with white hair and wearing a light colored purple dress.  She was very sad and wanted to know where her husband was.  She appeared lost and possibly had dementia when she passed away.

The woman, who was possibly named Eloise or Delores, was afraid of the other parts of the home.  She did not like leaving the bedroom and did not like the male entity that I had confronted in the front bedroom.  She stated she was born in 1924 and had celebrated her and her husbands fiftieth wedding anniversary.  The sweet lady kept asking "Where's Robert?"  She also wanted to know why the owners moved out and if they were coming back.  Scott also sensed the elderly woman and stated he saw her wearing purple and pearls.  She had roses around her casket.  When asking if she was attached to any item in the home, Scott said she liked a lamp that had been in the room.  She then told me that her Robert gave it to her.  We later found out from the owner and her friend that they had also seen the elderly woman that we had been talking to.  She was described identically to what they saw.  Also the previous owner of the home was named Robert.  It is unknown at this time if Robert is related to the elderly entity or if  she had connected with him some how.

The male entity that I had picked up on in the front bedroom had followed us into the back room and was communicating with Scott, one of the other sensitives on the team.  The entity was possibly named Roger Andrews.  He died in a motorcycle accident and had blunt trauma to his face.  He was in the military and was a strong womanizer and abuser.   He felt that each person had to measure up to him or they were not worth his time.  This entity was not an overly friendly person during the hunt or when he was alive.  It is possible he had gotten into a fight in a bar and when he left he was killed by a patron striking him with a pole as he drove off. 

Throughout the time Scott and I communicated with the marine and elderly woman photographs were taken of us.  Many of the photos have orbs in the exact location we claimed the entities were standing.  Personally I believe the entities will remain in the home and or hop around until they find someone else of interest.  I do not believe they will follow the owner to her new home.

Brandy's Report

Investigators present:  Brandy, Denise, Scott, Amelia, Cindy

Others:  Homeowner, daughter and friend

Red Room: 

Pre:  EMF recorded by the door, I felt dizzy.  The camera died.  Recording:  69 to 71 degrees

Investigation:  This area had a lot of activity.  Denise and Scott sensed an old woman in this area.  We also got a lot of orb images.

Denise sense that there was someone there.  The older woman was upset, wondering where her family went.  She was looking for her husband,  and had recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.  In the 1980s he had his 50th birthday.  Denise picked up the name Deloris, or Eloise.  Scott picked up "Louise."  She was petite, but very confused.

She wore blue or purple, with pearls.  She liked roses and perfumes.  She started to ask "Where is Robert?" and she smiled.  She wanted help finding Robert, her son.

She had some relation to a lamp, which was flowery, antique.  It was a wedding present.  It was given to her by Robert.

Denise briefly sensed a younger woman with long brown hair in the room.

Scott sensed something relating to a figure who liked Taco Bell and Cinnamon Twists.  He also continued to sense something to do with closetsclosets opening and closing, or hiding.  He thought there was a connection to the homeowner.

Scott began to get a stronger sense of a man who was about 35 when he died.  Death was related to blunt trauma to the face or nose.  He caught the name Andy, Andrew or Andrews.

The man died in 1967, he was drinking with friends.  He was a mechanic working in a small private garage.  Riding home on his motorcycle, he may have been hit by a car. 

Scott thought he might hide, move doors, or walk to the kitchen.  There were no ties to the house, but Scott was not sure why he was there.

Little Monsters: 

Pre:  No readings

Initially tagged as an area of activity

Investigation:  We got a few orbs in this area.  It was not as active, however, as the red room. After little activity we went back into the main bedroom.

Bathroom: 

Pre:  No readings, closet:  air handler:  readings; Hallway:  Scott sensed we were being followed by something down the hallway.

Kitchen: 

Pre:  No readings.

Laundry Room: 

Pre: Nothing, I got chills, but no activity there.

Living room: 

Pre:  Chills with homeowner while preparing for the investigation

Light switch did give off EMF, as did a plug on the wall.

Main bedroom:

Pre: A strangely de-energized area.  It had a wire in the back of the closet that could give off EMF.  I felt dizzy, and my camera, again, failed to work.

This area was perhaps the most active during the investigation.  Scott sensed, again, he was in his 30's, and that he smoked.  He may have smoked marijuana.  Scott and Denise both felt a pain in their heads, associated with his breathing.

He liked to knock things over.  He also was attached to women who lived in the house. 

During this time, the needle on my Trifield meter fluctuated once on the 0-3 scale.

Several images appeared with Scott -- many orbs around his arms, legs, head, and chest. 

As a physical description, Scott, to whom the entity wanted to communicate because he (Scott) was male, sensed he was in the Marines, and possibly trained in Alabama.  He went toViet Nam in the 1960s.  The year 1976 was also associated with this entity.

He had a mustache, and a crew cut.  He had green eyes.  He worked out.

He did not like the homeowner.  He didn't feel she had proven herself to be worthy.  He felt she was property.

He did ask Scott, "Where is Johnny?" who Scott thought was a male friend of his.

Both Denise and Scott reported feeling strange temperature fluctuations.  Scott felt warm, Denise cold.

I felt little or nothing, but did start to get fatigued.

Interview with homeowner: 

4 years ago she started to have strange dreams in the home.  The bed started shaking, and she sensed someone on or near her.

She also thought that the entity walked through the hall, and through the red room, out the back door.

At first, she dismissed these episodes as night terrors.  However, others also felt, and witnessed, the bed shaking at different times.

She also started to see sparks of light, like electricity in the air. 

Over the past 3 years, 10 different people who have come into the home have seen or felt things in the house.  There is nothing physical, but the daughter has seen figures leaning over her bed.  These include experiencing dream paralysis, smelling flowers and cigars, seeing the figure of a woman with long brown hair in the red room, seeing an old woman in the red room, feeling someone breathing in her (homeowner's) face while she was trying to sleep.  Shadow figures, particularly of small forms, have also been witnessed.  The homeowner's children also found mysterious black stones in a closet several years ago, though they did not keep any for us to examine.  The homeowner has also felt something warm and comforting on her shoulders.  She feels that there are multiple entities on the property.

The homeowner felt anxious enough to eventually ant to move out to a new place, and leave this one behind.

The house itself was rebuilt in 1980, on the same sight as an older home that was torn down to make room for it.  The couple she bought it from included a Robert, whom she never met.  The house was in horrible condition, and the couple was going through a divorce.

Before that, a single woman had lived there, she was the daughter of a lawyer.

Conclusion:  I was quite amazed by this.  I would say that there is a spirit of an older woman on the property.  She has been seen by the homeowner, and her friend, and sensed by Scott and Denise.  The older woman may be related to Robert.

The male entity, apparently, has attached itself to the homeowner.  According to Scott, it attached itself to her.  He sensed that the man had died on 66th St, and a street with an "8" in it (Denise thought it might be 38th).  Homeowner confirmed that she did travel down that area quite a bit. N The male entity did not communicate much with Denise, but seemed focused on Scott. 

The third entity is a surprising one; it was sensed strongly by the homeowner's boyfriend, who was upset enough to ask the homeowner to close the door to the red room, where he saw her.  Denise got a brief blip from her.  She may be a place memory, though both reported that they sensed surprise when she was "sensed" and she faded quickly.

My questions are these:  Is there a vortex in the area?  A lei line?  Why are these entities strong enough to sense?  Are they attached to the land, the new house, the older house, or the homeowner?  This is rather unusual as a case. 

I found the nearly constant battery drain to be interesting.  I went through two to three sets of batteries alone. 

Homeowner has burned sage to try to get rid of the entity/ies.  However, it has not helped matters.  She felt that the best thing she could do was to move out of the house, and I agree. 

Scott's report:

It is interesting how ghost can maintain earthly characteristic in the afterlife. I was the main connection to one spirit inside the home at 7th Ave N. He, the entity, was a middle age man and as soon as I walked into the home he contacted me. His opening line to me was "I will only talk to someone with a penis".

He was a very aggressive being and had a lot of discontent towards women in general which developed, I feel, sometime during his life. He has a strong connection to military and guns with images of motorcycles lacing through his sea of masculinity. Basically, he is not a being I would like to run into on a dark street.

This is a house I am very happy to be out of and don't think I will be returning to anytime soon.

Notes:

The house seemed quite "musty" upon entering. The energy felt old and edgy. My camera would not let me use the low-light feature for about 30 seconds and then turned on without showing it on the screen. About a minute later it appeared to be functioning properly to me. Another odd occurance was that near the end of both of my miniDV tapes, sound was lost for about ten minutes. This has never happened before or since the investigation.

Monster Bedroom:

This room did not really attract or repel me in any way. The camera did not pick up any odd occurances.

Red Room:

This room felt like it would be the center of attention if any ghost occupied the house. Scott also felt quite drawn to this room. He noted to me that a spirit was following me around the room. I smiled and welcomed the entity. Later, I hovered in the corner with my camera on him as he walked around the room "feeling" the air. He approached the curtained door and stretched his hands around trying to touch whatever was calling to him. Denise was standing near the door. She snapped a still photo and then told him to reach towards his left. He did, and immediately knew whatever he was looking for was right there. Temperature readings were taken, but I think they turned out normal? Later, Denise posted her pictures online. I looked for the picture that she had snapped right before talking to Scott, and amazingly... there were two orbs directly to the left of Scott where she had told him to reach. I checked over my own footage and saw nothing. I am now convinced that my camera is immune to ghosts.

We came back to this room after the initial walk through, and Denise & Scott were able to sort out some facts about the spirit. She was an elderly lady wearing light purple. Scott could smell and see her funeral. Cindy started crying without knowing why. The spirit felt uncomfortable going in the front area of the house because of the entity present there. Apparently, there were several entities in the house, and many felt as though this room was the main *vortex* for most of the spirits.

Front Bedroom:

Before filming this room, my camera decided it did not want to let me use the low-light feature. This room had no negative impact on me, but the others concluded that there was indeed a hard-minded man present there. They sensed he was killed on 66th street sometime in the 80s? The man hated females and loved to torment them. Scott felt the entity clutching his neck... Photographs were taken and there were orbs around Scott at the time. Denise has a shortness of breath and leaned across the bed to gather some of her equipment instead of walking around. She felt as though the entity was very angry and did not want her to walk around the bed.

Overall impression:

This house definitely had some restless energy within. I felt compelled to visit the fire pit out behind the house, but we concluded the investigation before getting a chance to look. My reasoning was because the owner noted that she had on several occasions found smooth, black rocks inside the closet in the red room. Perhaps on a return investigation we will take a look.

Wow- I'm so glad that you got such good pictures. If you ever want to go back again and take more pics, just let me know- I'll give you the keys. Personally, I think there is a heck of a lot of activity in the green bedroom.

I just wanted to say THANK YOU!! to all of you for coming out and spending your time to do this. You've certainly given me quite a lot to think about. As well, you've answered SO many questions that I had. A lot of the strange things that were going on with me a couple of years ago.

All I know, is that since I've gotten away from that house in August- my life has improved all the way around. It's really a very oppressive atmosphere in there- and I finally feel like I can breathe again. I have no intentions of ever going back there. Perhaps I should just sell the place and be done with it.
