Notes taken during investigation
1930s: a clinic that belonged to Doctor Basset (like the dog). Doctor’s office.
May have been that the clinic was used for “wealthy girls”.
When the people who lived there for five years moved out, they told of several things:
1) Hairbrushes went missing
2) An 8 - 10 year old girl upstairs that the kids would see.
3) Man standing in the doorway of the kitchen. Saw him quite often.
Direct experience with the door: when locking the door (holding the door closed and putting the key in), something hit the door very hard and it rattled (almost like a big dog charging the door and hitting it).
Bought by same person in 1983. One couple lived there for 5 years; then a renter from the beach who complained of hearing things, footsteps, things breaking in the kitchen and nothing was there, got locked out of the house (when walking the dogs left door open, came back to find it locked). Husband had vivid dreams of a tall black man and a shorter white man behind him. The dream was always the same -- we are coming in. He would say, in the dream, no, you are not. The two men would insist that they were coming in.
Google: found a 50th wedding anniversary that the Churches were invited to.
In the first bedroom, a clinical smell would come through. Could not get rid of it.
Older woman -- 4 or 5 houses down, might know the history. [Mary option].
Person watching the property got locked out. The key didn’t work when she tried it in the door. Managed to get in through another door and discovered that the skeleton key locked. Unsure how that happened.

Voices, a conversation, when the tv was on static. Voices went away when the tv went off. Tapping on all windows in the living room. Saw something out of the corner of my eye in the window. Often hear my hula hoop that is hanging on a door handle swinging. Had a dream that I woke up to a little girl playing with my hula hoop. She told me that the kids who lived here before had a doll that she used to play with but they took it with them when they left. She asked me to buy her a doll and gave me a specific description of what she wanted. Then I actually woke up. I was the only person here one night and while getting ready in my room I felt like someone was watching me. After I went downstairs I heard someone running down the stairs then a noise sounding like they tripped and fell into the wall. While we are all downstairs, we can hear what sounds like furniture moving right above our heads. It happens rarely, but when it does, we always hear it happen two times or more in one night. Also, we often hear stairs creaking like someone is walking up and down almost every night. I have been sitting in my room, and I will hear things bumping and moving in the attic, which I share a wall with.

Group report:
Beth: I am not feeling anything in living or dining room. Back hallway, I felt a lot of pressure at the base of the stairs. Not able to pick up anything. In the bedroom (James Dean room), I felt really dizzy. Tapestry room: In that room, I felt like I was getting words that weren’t making sense. I got: Brain, Brian (drawn out sound); I got 10, and friend. Those words were really insistent.
Upstairs: I felt a lot of energy in the Red Sox room. So much energy that my body was tingling from it. I felt like someone was watching and waiting, and that they are fearful. Going out into the hallway, it was very interesting area out there, I could see a vision of the wall that has the painting on it, a desk, which is facing toward the stairway. I could see chairs in the open area also. In another room up there (Army Room) I could see a table in the center of the Army Room. I was getting a lot of neck -pain in that room. I could hear a lot of clinking metal sound.
Les: Mainly, I guess that the EMF base was a 2.5 through the downstairs; back hallway it hit an 8. It was 80-81 degrees; Red Sox room was the coldest with 76; at the top of the steps the EMF spiked. Inside the room was 0. This area is above the A/C return. Mostly 76 upstairs.
Kathy: Everything down here felt fine. I got an uneasy feeling upstairs, but that was basically it for me.
Mary: I didn’t get much either, but I got info from the Army Room; got a last name with an F sound; the area upstairs was like a waiting area; when Beth was talking about the seats, I felt like it was a waiting area.
Erin: The room that looks like it was a porch (James Dean room) there is a different energy in there; in the far corner. In the Tapestry room, strong energy in there but a bit oppressive; felt like you would hear knocking or footsteps in there; in the Red Sox room upstairs, heavy energy and I felt like I was being watched.
Verna: I know that you guys party here; it doesn’t like what you’re doing here. I picked that up when I first came in; I got “I don’t like this” and “It’s a little too much”. It wishes you’d stop. We did go upstairs, the attic door; there is a nail on the opposite side of the door as if the door has been nailed shut. There is a chain lock on the outside of the room. The nail shows that it was nailed shot. On the second floor; it does not like the young people; I was picking up boarding house or office upstairs. It’s almost like there is an office upstairs. I kept smelling Vicks smell. I picked up office building; the Red Sox room -- a lot of energy in that room. There is something not right up there. I don’t know; it was odd. The windows have the slanted thing going on…nothing paranormal; it was coming to me -- was this used as an office. I noticed that there was a metal vent on the staircase. I wondered if it was a store front. In the kitchen I felt nothing; laundry room was once an outside room. Green bedroom: I felt that there was a man looking in through the window. It’s not a bad thing, but he is looking for something. The bedroom itself did not feel bad or ill, I can’t tell you why. The next room (window room), maybe it was a sleeping porch; assembled there irregularly. We went to the Tapestry room and I noticed that the individual had a lot of different religious symbols there. I wondered if something bothered him in the room. I feel like there is something that comes in and out of the room and I was wondering if it bothered the homeowner. Bedroom with army room, I felt a man by the closet door.

Red Sox: Upon approaching the room, the door was closed. It was open when the investigators went downstairs. No one went upstairs.
Did the door close because of the return to the a/c?
[Homeowner: no, it was not closed and it does not close on its own].

Verna: Is it possible that a doctor lived here? Did he treat someone next door? Is this an old time clinic? I kept going to the idea?
Kathy: With the hospital so close, maybe this was originally the clinic as a hospital would be built close to the clinic.
Verna: I sensed him when we first came in. If the man is the doctor, then it must be active.
Kathy: Army room was once an exam room; Red Sox room was a surgical room.
Green room: Nothing in this room.
Tapestry room: More energy in this room than in the others. (Beth)

Homeowner Reports:
There were two doors; one resident door, one door for the clinic.
Will ask where the clinic was -- upstairs or downstairs?
Girl appears to be the same girl described by the people who lived here prior to the current owners; then the neighbors, joking, said that if the little girl got bored that she could come over to their house. The girl did show up and was seen by the neighbor children; the same girl was reported in one of the homeowners by the dream.
Another resident: Heard footsteps creaking.
Another resident reported that sitting on the love seat, she kept turning around to see what was going on in the kitchen. Cannot sit with back to the kitchen. It is an intense feeling.
She kept loosing her keys; joking, asked out loud for her keys. 10 minutes later it was in the middle of the floor. Same issue with the flip flop -- one of the two was missing. Asked to have it back and the flip flop appeared on the floor.
The first day that I moved in here, I had a pile of clothes that were on the floor. I had set some clothes on the bed and on the dresser. I came downstairs to get more clothes and when I went upstairs and found all of the clothes were put into a pile.
The first night we were here, I freaked out. I couldn’t handle it. I wanted to leave right away. I went out to get into the car and when I turned the key battery was dead. I never had any problems with the car before.
Another resident: 3 to 4 a.m., I have woken up and I feel like there is something in the room that wasn’t there before. When reading the Paranormal Puck session, Brandy read “Counter Comfort” -- the resident said that he had a dream in which something kept saying “counter comfort”.
When we first moved in we heard things all of the time. Dragging furniture sound upstairs. We have heard the noise when we were sitting all together upstairs.

EMF was all over the place from a base of about 2 to a high of 8 in the hallway at the kichen and totally pegged at the top of the stairs at the doorway to the Red Sox room. Temperature ranged from 76 in the red sox room and the army room, up to 81 in the kitchen.

Verna. -Walking into the house I heard "I do not like them [doing that] in here." -Saw that the upstairs door to the attic storage had a chain lock on the inside and that there were nails sticking through the door. -Picked up " Do not like young people." -Picked up that this building was a boarding house or office. -First Bedroom with the flowered stain glass door felt a man standing next to the closet door in that room. -Continued to smell camphor in the hallway. -Second bedroom-a lot of energy was being picked up. -Bottom of staircase upstairs looked like a store front at one time. -Felt nothing in kitchen. laundry room appeared to be an open porch at one time. -Green bedroom picked up a man looking in from the outside through the window. -Window room may have been a sleeping porch. -Room with all the flags, picked up an energy that someone or energy would enter and exit the room at night. Toward the end of the evening was picking up that perhaps this house may have been a doctor's office.

Mary: In the "army room" I picked up a name beginning with an "F" or possibly an "FR" that seems connected with a former male resident

Mary: I am the process of researching this home and am finding contradictory information on one of the original families that lived in the home. The home itself was built in 1916. So far census records and newspaper articles seem strangely at odds with the family that appears to be the original owners. When the public library reopens this month. there is another source of information that may shed some light on the occupations of the earlier residents. Also Verna and I were fortunate enough to talk to a delightful woman who has lived in the immediate area most of her life and who knew of the original family. More researrch will be published as it becomes available.

Kathy: during the second walk through I felt that the home was used as a clinic at some time. I felt that the Boston room may have been used for surgery and the army room was more like an exam room.

Erin- The bedroom with all the windows has a different energy than the rest of the house. Not sure why that is. The energy in the Tapestry bedroom was strong, a bit oppressive. I felt like the person who sleeps in that room hears knocking or footsteps. In the Red Sox bedroom, I felt very heavy energy. I definitely got the feeling of being watched, and that that was a regular occurrence in that room.
