Temple Terrace June 13, 2003

During the year there are times when it appears that there is a natural increase in the report of ghostly phenomena. October, of course, is a major season for paranormal investigation but, oddly, so are the hot humid summer months leading up to Fall.

The reason for this is unknown. Perhaps Florida's intense heat and nearly inhumane outdoor conditions drive individuals inside allowing them more exposure to potential entities within the home. Summer rains occur nearly daily, complete with lightning, which is said by some to allow for entities to manifest.

These factors combined also appear to augment the ghostly activity of the Tampa Bay area. In June, the SPIRITS were called to Temple Terrace to investigate a condominium shared by a graduate student, her two dogs and one cat.

I had been to the home one time prior to the investigation. She invited me for a small cookout shortly after moving into the condo. While we were there, the homeowner started taking pictures of various individuals with her digital camera, then downloaded the images for us to see. Next to me in two separate pictures was a small bright orb. None of the other pictures possessed this image. I feared that I had inadvertently brought a "party crasher" with me.

The homeowner, excited with this find, attempted to duplicate the image while I was there but no further phenomena occurred.

However, months later she contacted me again. The orb, apparently, was the manifestation of another "invisible resident" of the home. She reported sensing the heaviness in her bedroom and had a dread of sleeping there. She had dreams in which she spoke with the ghosts, and her cat often watched some invisible force moving through the rooms.

Our investigation revealed two locations of activity. In the bedroom, several sensitives felt a very heavy atmosphere surrounding them and described a fight scene between a man and a woman. Another sensed spectral energy that blanketed the whole room, possibly trapped there due to the activities of the arguing couple.

Meanwhile, an independent entity "paced" outside the bedroom urging us out according to one psy-sensitive. We returned to the living room and, again, our equipment picked up small EMF fluctuations. Cameras from nearly every teammate captured orb images this time. The small bright orb returned again, this time settling next to the homeowner and her dogs. Another orb moved around the room investigating us as we investigated it.

Both entities appeared to be male. One was a "drop in" spirit who died in a car accident as a young man. His life, he said, had been directionless and his death pointless. He wandered the earthly plane looking for companionship and friends. He appreciated the beauty of the homeowner, though he was not fond of her dogs.

The second entity was a fatherly figure who had possibly known the homeowner a short time. He lived in the area as her neighbor; the two shared a common wall.

During the interview, we learned that, indeed, the homeowner's neighbor had died shortly after she moved in, though she did not know him well. She also reported hear-say from the neighbors about a former couple occupied the condo before she moved in. They could hear them arguing and things slamming against the walls. No one died from the incidents, though apparently a strong psychic residue was left behind.

Though the homeowner lived in the building for a year, the activity remained mild until the late spring/early summer season. Now, the home has sold and she has moved to a cooler more northerly climate. It will be interesting to see if the entities follow her, or if we get a call from the new homeowner asking us for an investigation. (623)

Denise

By the time I had arrived at this residence the rest of the team was finishing up the silent walk through. Mine consisted of quick glances into the bedroom and bathroom, taking pictures. I did immediately notice that there was a temperature difference between the bedroom and the hallway. Stepping back and forth from the bedroom entrance and the hallway was like getting in and out of a heated car. The air in the bedroom was heavy and uneasing. Once joining the team in the living room, I sensed a male presence. I also received the names Bob, John (Johnny-Jonathan) and Teddy. The male entity was 29 years old. The entity stayed in the living room because he did not like the atmosphere of the bedroom.

The team entered the bedroom and began communicating with two specific entities. Scott sensed a man whom he believed was named William Daniel Morris, 52 years old. He died in 1962 of heart failure. His wife is named Betty or Bonnie. William is waiting for her to pass over so to meet her. He passes through the bathroom and bedroom walls watching over the homeowner. While Scott was speaking with William, I sensed the younger male entity in the hallway watching us. He did not like the bedroom and did not want us in there and refused to come in with us. I could sense something negative in the bedroom, violence and abuse. Scott stated that he reenacted a male and female arguing and physically fighting in the bedroom. It was a memory of past events. This explained the negative energy I sensed.

Back in the living room we continued talking with the entity I will call Bob, 29 year old male. Bob was very unhappy about being deceased and although he was not an evil or mean entity, he was definitely negative about what was going on. The homeowner gave him a sense of satisfaction and was a positive good energy and I believed that is why he stayed around her as much as he did. When trying to speak with him about moving on, Bob seemed negative about this by questioning where there was to go. He did not go to church and did not believe in the afterlife. This also seemed to cause him some frustration, now that he was experiencing the afterlife personally.

I was able to get that he had a two year old son named Tommy. Tommy lives with his mother, Brenda and grandmother. He would be six years old by now. We requested Bob move on to a better place and allow the homeowner to live in peace. She has felt drained of energy while living in this apartment and is ready for some peace and quiet. Hopefully she can find it and so can the entities living within.

Pre-investigation:

Kitchen: 1 EMF, 0-3 scale

83 degrees

Scott found a max EMF reading on his meter, which was confirmed by my meter and the compass. This reading probably related to a power source running through the house.

Dining Area: 2 EMF on 0 - 3 scale

Scott also got a reading

Narthex/Foyer: mirror, peephole, circuit box and a/c in these areas

80 degrees

Living room: orb showed up on my camera though EMF and temperature not sufficiently changed.

Bathroom: 81.5 degrees, shower, with tiles, 78 degrees

3 EMF

Bedroom, 81 degrees

Hall closet: 81 degrees, .8 EMF

Outside: EMF 3.0 +, 85 degrees

Amy: Felt something in bedroom and living room

Denise: Described the bedroom as containing a shift in energies, a male, 20 - 30 watching us, Jonathan, Jonnie, Teddie. Stays near back wall, hangs near the head board.

Sue: Caught an orb on her camera near the headboard.

Jeanne: Nothing

Scott: Heard a name, William Daniel Morris, tied to the apartment next door. The spirit was sensed in the bathroom, where he goes through the walls. Scott also sensed him near the bed's headboard.

William had a heart attack, and Scott picked up the date 1962 from him. His wife was still alive, her name was Betty or Bonnie; he was waiting for his wife.

Scott sensed a young blonde child near the glass. Child sees homeowner as an aunt, likes her animals. Skipping, playful. He also heard the name Robert or Bob, a young man, around the age of 23. He wore a polo shirt.

Beth: Nothing

Brandy: Caught orbs on camera in bedroom and living room.

As a group, we decided the most activity took place in the bedroom and the living room. Those were the areas we concentrated on most.

Investigation:

Bedroom:

I got dizzy sensation upon entering the bedroom. However, bad storms were coming; it could have been either a reaction to the energies of the room or a sinus condition.

Sensitives picked up a man in the hall; senses a fight had occurred in that room; residual memories. Male and female fighting. Both saw a scenario of a woman running and a man chasing her into the room.

Separate entity, "Robert" sensed from the pre-investigation, does not come into the room. He wants to wash off "dirt" -- the room and the energies within it make him feel "dirty".

William checks on homeowner. Scott thought that the spirit tried to let the homeowner know he was there by knocking or shaking the headboard.

He sees himself a s a father or grandfather figure; he is happy for the homeowner now.

The secondary male spirit outside interrupted Scott to warn the team (through Denise) that he does not like this room and that we need to go ASAP. There was a spike on the EMF meter at this time.

Denise and Scott both suggested that the walls need to be repainted for the room; the colors are trapping this energy there.

Eventually, Scott and Denise described a haze of entitiesa lot of spectral energy in the room.

Scott also sensed a heaviness in the chest, as if the energy were weighing down the room.

Living room:

In the living room, more was sensed about the second male spirit; Robert Johnson (?)

He had a little boy; he was not a father to the child in life, and did not interact much with the boy. He does not wish to be around the little boy in death. The boy's name was Tommy; he was 2 when Robert died, either 6 years ago or the boy is now 6 years old.

The boy's mother is Brenda Simmons (?), a girlfriend who still lives with her Mom. .

Robert seemed to have been teasing Scott. When we asked where the spirit was from, he gave Scott's partner's home address, as well as his partner's last name.

There was 1 spike with a noise while we interviewed Robert.

Question: Why is he here?

Just hanging out, waiting to go. He died in a car accident; he had a Trans Am.

He had an acne problem (EMF meter spiked with that); he still perceives himself as having pimples in afterlife.

He is a transient soul; he travels everywhere. He is lonely. He is looking for friends. This is only one of the places he hangs out.

He liked video games in life. He worked in a fast food eatery. He doesn't like "the rat" --Jennifer's doxie. He likes big dogs.

Question: How can we help him?

He didn't do anything bad when alive, but he saw his life, and death, as pointless. He rambled through life without direction; he does the same thing through death. He's not evil or mean; he's unhappy his life is over. He doesn't know what to do with his afterlife.

Outside the house is a little girl. Scott senses her looking in. Her name is Jennie, she is looking for her mommy. Her mother is still alive, lived in an apartment complex like this. She may have been hit by a car in life.

Homeowner interview

Child Figure:

Jennifer felt that Jennie could have been a thought projection for a potential child she lost 5 years ago. She also said she always wanted to be an aunt, and she had also imagined herself having a daughter who looked like Jennie.

(During the homeowner interview, I saw a black orb by Sue and Denise; I also saw an orb in the kitchen doorway. I found it interesting that Amy's image looked similar to the orb I "saw" during the interview).

William: Her neighbor who lived next door died 6 months ago. She remembered having a group pray for him during a party she held in her home. He died under hospice care with lung and brain cancer.

His name was Michael, she thought, and he was in his 40s or 50s (which might explain the year 1962 as being a birth year). They did have a connected wall, and she often smelled his cigarette smoke through her bathroom vent.

She did learn from another long term residence that there was a case of domestic violence with prior owners of the home. A woman and her boyfriend lived in the apt., and the neighbors could hear fights from them -- including pounding on the walls.

Robert: She said she had an uncle Robert who died; he was in his 70s, and might make a sexually inappropriate comment (Scott heard "Robert" say that he liked Jennifer's "rack"). However, he left behind no nephews or nieces.

She has had the feeling about the headboard, almost the sensation that it was getting ready to move or fall.

While her partner was visiting, she had an episode in her bedroom of intense pressure on her chest. She went to the ER because of the pain.

Investigator's Conclusions

The area appears to be mildly haunted. I knew the homeowner from prior meetings with another group. She told me about buying the condo and that she felt a tension in it. She had learned early into her ownership that domestic abuse happened in the house. I gave her some sage to burn to bring the energy level down.

While there at a party in Jan., an image she took revealed an orb next to me. I was sitting on the couch in an area where other orbs were captured. Two pictures Jennifer took revealed that there were orbs next to me. (Possibly because we were talking about the ghost investigations that I do).

The child thought projection is an interesting idea. I'm not sure how I feel about that; I suspect it's up to the individual. I don't think it's unheard of , however. I do believe the mind has a great deal of control over what happens in our reality.

The connection with the neighbor is very interesting, and might not surprise me. Jennifer had some details on what happened, but I'd be interested in learning more.

Residue energy, particularly from those still living, is relatively common as a phenomena. I have heard others report feeling an angry energy in a room where arguments had taken place, with or without the owners still living. Part could be psychological, but it's not outside the realm of possibility that the emotions may create a residue.

Wandering entities are also fairly common. We seem to come across transient beings from time to time during other investigations.

The little blonde hair girl always surprises me. We have had other investigations where a woman with blonde hair cut in a bob or a child figure appears. I need to go through prior investigations and see where commonalities overlap. Perhaps the child or the woman is connected to one of the investigators?

Report of Temple Terrace

During the silent walk through I found myself drawn the back wall of the bedroom â" something was definitely there. I was registering lower temperature readings and some slight EMF readings in that area. This was the only area that I felt anything of any significance.

When investigating this room we did register one significant EMF spike at 8pm. Scott was able to pick up some knocking on the headboard and also sensed some arguing or crying in the room.

Denise seemed to believe that the spirit in the room was draining energy from those that would spend a large amount of time in there. There was also a sense that the current color of the walls was "trapping."

Scott picked up the name William Daniel Morris and sensed that he had died of a heart attack in 1962. His wife, Betty, is still alive and he's searching for her. She has silvery hair.

A little girl was picked up looking through the sliders in the living room. She had blond very curly hair and liked to play with the dogs. Her name was possibly Jenny and her cause of death was possibly being hit by a car.

While sitting by the sliders I picked up a very brief but bright flash of light in the sliders. I couldn't find anything that would make such a flash near by. Near the closet there was an EMF spike at about 8:10p. An energy was picked up here of an entity that is a transient soul. Possibly male. He is looking for friends -- " good people." While living he possibly held fly by night types of jobs and possibly came from a broken home. He likes big dogs and plays with the homeowners dogs often, although he was not fond of her little one.

There was a lot of mixed energy in this house. It was apparent that the bedroom did not hold positive energy and seemed to be a cyclone of confusion. The homeowner did mention that she preferred to sleep on the couch in the living room as opposed to sleeping in her bed.

Pre-Investigation Communications:

Brandy, I'm convinced I have a ghost. I would love for you and your team to come check it out, when you have time. It is located where we saw the picture of it, when you were here. It's in that corner. Big boy sits and looks up at it and when we had a dog visitor the other day, Lucy, she sat and stared up there, too. I'm almost sure there's something and I would like to know. I don't know much about the previous tenants, but I know that there was a lot of violence and before that, some renters. My neighbor knows everyone who has lives here in the past twenty years, as she has lived two doors down that long. I haven't asked her too many details.

I had a really weird dream last night. I slept in the living room to sleep with Hannah (she doesn't sleep in my bed, she goes potty in it, but if I sleep on the couch she doesn't.) Anyway, it was next to the spot where the suspect spirits are. I dreamt of a John and a woman. They were ghosts. I wonder if I saw them and thought I was dreaming or what. Anyway, I was looking at them, as spirits and trying to talk to them, I think. It was cool.

Yes, Big Boy goes to the suspect area and looks up at it. Also, a visiting dog did the same thing. I feel like there's something in a certain area.

*Full manifestation of an entity?

Are there cold drafts or cold spots found only in a certain location? Barring, of course, drafts created by the a/c or heating units, fans, and windows.

*Do you experience the apportation of objects? Apportation is the manifestation of foreign objects into a location. This may also relate to small household objects that disappear, cannot be found, but "reappear" in either the exact location first searched or in an area where it will be easily found. Metal objects, including keys, coins, and jewelry, seem to be most often affected.

*Have you visual confirmation of objects moving?

*Abnormal behavior of lights or doors? Have you witnessed lights coming on of their own accord? Doors opening or closing without assistance? Or, have you experienced unlocked doors locking themselves, or visa versa?

*Expression of SLIder phenomena: SLIder stands for "Street Light Interference". This is paranormal activity relating to the living. Theoretically, SLIders are emitting a low grade of PK (psychokinetic) energy which interacts and interferes with electronic devices. SLIder phenomena includes street lights going off as a person walks by them, electronic devices constantly breaking when a person is near them or attempts to use them, watches dying, batteries dying at an abnormal rate, etc.

Yes, the slider events happen a lot with me.

*Premonitions (future events), clairvoyance (sensing or knowing things that are going on in the present at an entirely different location), or retro cognition (seeing events that took place in the past)?

Yes, I have always had premonitions. Sometimes I see it play out as a movie and then the event happens. Or else something pops into my mind, like a specific unusual word and then I find something with that word. For example, I kept thinking feral, the other day, then I found a library book, on display, about feral children and the same night, my friend said something about a feral animal.

I'm not sure. I have lived here for a year and this has been going on the entire time.

Also, when I took a nap on the couch next to the suspect area, I was having bizarre dreams.

POST INVESTIGATION INFORMATION 6/15/03

Weirdness abounds, let me tell you! Big Boy has been staring out of the window and I asked him if he saw Jenny, the little girl ghost. I asked him to show me where she is and I immediately got the feeling that something said, "you're looking right at her". Chills! He moved to the chairs, in front of the sliding doors and looked out at another area, in the same general area. I think he was looking at her. I spoke to her and told her that I would love to have her come inside, that she is welcome to stay with me. Backing up, when I was working online, and sort of talking to her, I asked if she was there and heard a tap on the sliding glass door. I was too afraid to see what the tap was!

I have burned the sage in my room, opened up the curtains and blinds, and put up chimes and told the negative energy to get out! I slept on the couch Friday night (you're lucky I didn't come home with you since I was so spooked, hehe) and then did all of that Saturday, slept in my room Saturday night and woke up after 7 hours without an alarm. I had been sleeping for 12 hours a night, feeling like the energy was sucked out of me, and finally slept well. My gf said that she had a really hard time sleeping in my room, too. She said she felt uneasy in there, and she has been here several times.

As for the shirt shot, grrrrrr to Robert! That is so funny that both of us were getting orbs on our shirts, ugh, men!
