5. What technical observations did you note during the investigation? For purposes of categorizing data, please post your first name, followed by your response.
1.Mary: Personally I had no technical occurrences of my own. However there was a hear sensation over the bar in the poolroom that could have been caused by the mechanical equipment located below the bar. Sally, one of the prospective members, noted that she had gotten a very low reading outside from the roof of the bar. Sun, 2/17/08 7:28 AM
2. Brandy: My video camera died. I put it out in the "hallway" area to monitor that as per the suggestion of our sensitives. I noted that the camera had 37 minutes battery time left and hit the "record" button to the best of my knowledge. However, when we came out to do our second EVP session, the camera was off. In review of the tape, after the initial walk through there is absolutely no recording. I am not sure if it is user era (I thought I did check the camera and I DID look at the battery image) or if it was something else. We later did learn that this was the area of highest activity. EMF was low and the 0 - 3 scale could be used. There were several areas of spikes. At one point, I noted that EMF outside the bar really did flux quite a bit, primarily because of the traffic light outside. My EMF meter started to act strangely, doing "reverse spikes" in which the reading dropped. I did replace the battery and it worked normally again. The odds were pretty high that the battery was simply drained; this is the first battery replacement that I can recall for this particular meter.
Evie - The building had a lot of electrical equipment and the EMF readings were at the top end of the scale. It was necessary to use the 0-3 setting on the EMF meter. We did get one EMF spike in reply to a question. I took about 18 pictures both inside and out and did not get anything other than a couple of dust orbs.

Sally: Temperature readings along the roof at the western most point and eastern most point dropped from a natural ambient temperature (50-38) to unexplained drops as low as -1 degree Fahrenheit with sustained moving temperatures between 20 degrees to 10 degrees Fahrenheit. *Noted odd equipment behavior: During this time thermometer gave a brief reading of -0 degree* In the Front bar area, temperature readings along the bar surface rose in temperature to a reading of 80 degrees Fahrenheit in two spots. When investigators neared the area, temperature returned to normal ambient temperature.

1.Mary: The energy of a woman in her late 30s to early 40s was present in the hallway bar. She was very boisterous but in a friendly sort of way. She was pretty adamant about one particular seat as being "hers." From her dress, white long sleeved shirt, jeans and brown hair pulled back in a ponytail, I would judge her to be from the 1970s. There was no name associated with her. Also there was the energy of a grizzled man of short-stature just outside the building on the south side in the parking lot. Sun, 2/17/08 7:28 AM

3.Evie - When I walked into the front area where the pool tables are, I felt an energy right by the plant inside the door. I sat down on the bench but kept being distracted by one of the new prospects who kept leaving the room so I couldn't really concentrate. Sat, 2/16/08 12:19 AM

5.Sally: (1)During EVP work of the front bar near the pool table, an indistinct whisper was heard by myself in my left ear. 6.Marta-Before we began our initial investigation, I did not feel anything remarkable about the outside of the restaurant. However, upon entering from the back into the hallway area, my ears pricked up, so to speak. I took note of it and continued to preliminary walk, but I definitely felt drawn back to this area, and it seemed like the energy, or person, I was detecting was on the south side of the hallway area, esp. behind the area of the bar tables and stools. (He would also move the area where the table full of trophies were.) This person was male, at least in his late 40's, pale, with medium brown hair. In all likelihood he was taller than myself, (I am 5'8), but it's difficult to ascertain his height as he seemed stooped over. This isn't a bad or evil entity, but certainly a miserable one. He seemed very inebriated, with the manor and essence of a person who has dedicated many years to drinking. He did seem like he very much wanted to be left alone, (if anything he seemed to try retreat). I will confess that there was an irony to my detecting this soul; he reminded me of my late paternal grandfather in respect to the man's general appearance and drinking habit. I am certain that it is not my grandfather as he was older than this entity when he died, and had even more of a wasted appearance. The pool room of the bar was odd as well, although I did not pick up a specific person there myself. 9.Priscilla- Upon arriving at the place, I noticed pressure in my head and felt an "other world" presence. This was intense energy which remained constant until the last test was done. I feel that this site is a crossroads of ley lines and that spirit uses these to guide them on their travels from dimension to dimension. It is well traveled and has been for a long time. This activity will continue. Present physical occupants need not fear, though, and must know that they are in control here. If "travelers" cause disruption that is unacceptable they need to voice a request to cease that particular activity. This may need to be repeated as there is always new spirits passing thru. Tell them you don't mind they come this way, only please don't disrupt life here or the business.

1.Mary: I am still researching the location. At present the only info I have is that the site was platted in 1912 and that the building was completed in 1928. According to the business owner, I believe that this location used to be a house in the early years. More research will be forthcoming Sun, 2/17/08 7:28 AM
2.Brandy: At one point, this had been a home. It was converted to a bar in 1938. There is no known history of death or violence in the home. They did start to remodel, and the recent owner of the Sunset Grille died of cancer. It is now under new management. Sat, 2/16/08 7:20 PM

9. What issues does the review team need to address with the occupant (homeowner, business owner, resident)? What aspects of the investigation need to be re-addressed, retested, or clarified?
1.It would be good to leave a recording device(s)there over-night to see if we can capture any of the sounds that the restaurant employees have reported. One should definitely be left in the area of the hallway bar. Also, is it known when the mural was painted and the actual names of the patrons portrayed in it?
2.I would like to find out if batteries die in the area of the hallway; are there other “electrical drainage” issues in that area?
3.       Nothing at this time.
4.  Based on the information from the owner, perhaps more focus in the kitchen/office area and to see if we can acquire more information on the "Traveler"
5. (1)Re reading of the EM fields near the large freezer in the side bar area. (2)Re analysis of the front bar area where the warm spot was on the bar to try to explain the warmer temperature. i.e. refrigerator exhaust, power outlet or some other heat source. (3)Check roof area for possible explanation of the lower temperature readings. ie air conditioner leaks, fan pattern or air conditioning venting.
6. Marta-I would be interested to know if the activity, (things be thrown), was higher at certain times than others. If the activity centered on a particular person or persons.
7. The building is on Lei/Ley lines, activity found by sensitive and confirmed by equipment
8. Find out if there is any activity with the pool table. Balls moving or falling in pockets when no one is around.

1.Brandy: The initial interview and reported information includes the following: Employees have had dreams of the place in which they are trying to leave the establishment, but they are lost and wandering; can't get out. *Always a sensation of being watched at back cooler and in front of the bar by a "a guy in a fedora". *Items being thrown down hallway. *Not hostile. *Shadow figures seen on North side of the bar in the bar area and outside cooler. *Orb seen on video camera. Though the camera only records in black and white, this was a 2 foot orb in blue that moved from one part of the bar to another. *One day employees saw Christmas bulbs shoot down the hall. *Lights brighten and dim. *One phone line will not work sometimes (prior owner had the ability to know who was on the line when it rang). *TV sometimes turn on *banging sounds *rattling windows *Perfume scent is detected and a warm/good feeling is had. Feeling that they are not alone. *A lot of activity happens in the hall. Legend has it that the person who is active is painted in the mural (man eating spaghetti). Sat, 2/16/08 7:20 PM

Kay, the former proprietor and our original contact into the investigation.  She died in December, though she reported a number of phenomena for her years in the Sunset Grille.    This original  digitals taken of the murals showed a large white mark over Kay's face,,,NOte the image taken by another SPIRITS member, and Sunset Grilel regular.  Orb next to the face.

Who is she:  Person who worked there, long time customer (Since about 1969)

Comments:
1970s: Older couple owned it:  Jim and Helen Griner (Helen died of cancer a few years ago)
From Mass.  and bought it.

Jim: had to be in his 70s.  He was a "rascally" guy -- nice.  Helen was very stern.  Jim died died some time ago -- he loved that place.  He would be the one who would be haunting it.

He'd tend bar, do shopping for supplies, integral part of the bar, smart man.

Their kids ran it - Art and Johanna
Tended and ran it (bar and hamburger joint, sponsored softball and pool team; neighborhood place). 

Linda also started the Boxing Ring and Tangelos before selling them off.  She would start a business, grow it, then sell it.  A marvelous cook...really a wonderful person.
