Other interest: Solar X-Ray activity high, geometric energy unsettled, 7% waxing moon, last day of Mercury Retrograde
Note: Homeowners did smoke in the house.
Susan ran a bit late. While waiting, I noted that the EMF reading in the living room was a base of 1.4. There were sporadic beeps. However, there was an air purifier and aquarium in the room as well.
EMF set to the 0 – 3 scale, unless otherwise indicated.
Investigation started at 6:40 –
Kitchen:
72 degrees
EMF 1.5, spikes around microwave
Study/Office area
1.8 EMF
69 – 71 degrees
Small spikes over printer (explainable).
Dining room:
EMF 1.3

MA bedroom:
71 – 72 degrees, 58 degrees by window

Michelle reports a pain in her chest, to the side, started when she walked into the room. My eyes stung in the room very briefly. Cigarette smoke bothering me?
Bathroom:
The closet in the hall leading to the bathroom: EMF 1.3
65-67 degrees
Susan felt a tingling in that area; goose bumps on arms. Her eyes also burning.
EMF in hallway by closet pegged the EMF to 3.0 – discovered a circuit on the other side. EMF from an ungrounded wire.
Living room:
72 degrees
EMF 1.5
Outside:
EMF 1.8
Homeowner requested that we take pictures around the plants. I used 35 mm film for that (need to process).
Power box on west side of house.
1 small spike, reason unknown.
Garage:
1.4 EMF
Chemical smell
Small bathroom in the area
Michelle reports heat (but hot water heater located out there).
Three small spikes on EMF; reason unknown.
2 “taps” on the light above us.
Small spikes continue.
Review:
Dianne: Compass went crazy in MA bedroom, 2 spots next to bed. Didn’t reoccur when they went back to try the areas again.
Michelle: Corner in office; breathing hard, suffocating feeling near the closet door.
Someone behind, pain in the side in second bedroom
Coming back from outside was feeling light headed.
Jeanne: Compass readings were off near the poles in the Second bedroom
Brandy: 2 orb images on digital camera, one in living room and one by the carved chest near hallway.
Susan: everything felt neutral, but picked up an “L” or “Ellen” name. Odd feeling from computer desk area. MA bedroom was very still, no energy. Second bedroom to closet, felt like there were rattling noises, not caused by pets; her eyes were burning, headache. Something with lamps on the walls, Lillian (EMF beeps). She felt Lillian was a ghost who follows the team now. Sharp pain in left side of body (death, nauseous). Bill, bio/uncle, North Carolina.
Jo: No EMF or temp flux that were unexplainable. She felt a tightness in her head and prickling on her tongue.
Second walk through:
MA bedroom, Second Bedroom, Office, living room
MA bedroom: 1.2 – 1.4 EMF. Temp. 70 – 72 degrees. No anomalous images, Susan felt nothing. Went to second bedroom.
Second bedroom: EMF 1.4 – 1.6
Spike but no consistent “yes” readings; tried to communicate with entity via EVP or EMF. No real luck.
In asking the questions, Susan got that the entity was male, remembered 1972.
Office: EMF: 1.6 (definite increase in EMF)
Asked questions
Susan sensed that the entity came in and watches a lot (spike on EMF meter).
He is committed to the family. His name is Bill or Joe (spike on Joe).
Asked if a male relative – brother or uncle? (Spike on EMF)
EMF went up to 1.8 for part of the question session. It dropped to a 1.4; Michelle noted that she felt a pressure next to her that just left.
We decided to also go into the garage to see if we could track entity there.
Garage started out with a 1.2 EMF. As we stayed in room, it went up to a 1.6, peaking at 1.8, then dropped to 1.4. Increased again to 1.8….
We tried to turn off the light, EMF remained unaffected.
Entity felt “overwhelmed” – EMF spike.
Angry – spike, (also via Susan’s senses – yes)
Related to Debbie (Yes)…great uncle? (Listed male relatives, no answer).
Concerned with her safety: Yes
Anything in garage his? Tool on shelf.
Homeowner interview:
Father: Tom, from N. Carolina, tool out on shelf in the garage is his – a hammer. He was protective of all his children.
Second bedroom: Homeowner herself has an eye problem that includes burning and watery eyes. Also reports that she thought it might be a cat spirit that the SPIRITS were picking up on.
Anger in garage and by computer: could be husband who has powerful emotions.
Homeowner reports no activity in house, except for occasional voices (not related to the house). Her husband’s wife has appeared to her, and her mother also had her father’s spirit show up (as reported by another psychic).
Conclusion: This was a known control investigation. It was interesting that homeowner considered the house control because there was no poltergeist or 3rd party haunting; however, the spirits of her family and the residue picked up were very interesting. Susan was pleased that she was able to pick up as much as she did, especially under these conditions. I was also quite pleased…
Jeanne's report:
We had two new members on the team. Jo was on her second investigation, and it was Michelle's first. We had six members total, so we split into two groups of three. I went with Dianne and Jo. We started in the master bedroom. I got nothing there, but Dianne's compass was erratic. In the second bedroom, my compass was pointing in different directions, but we found that it was responding to the bed's metal bedposts. We moved through the computer room, the kitchen, the dining room, the living room, and the garage. I got no unusual EMF or compass readings in any of these rooms. We met with the other team in the living room, to discuss what we found. Several people reported odd feelings such as prickling and tightness in several different areas of the house. On our second walk through, we tried for an EVP in the second bedroom. Susan felt a male presence there, and got the date 1972. We went to the computer room next. Susan felt that the presence watches people here. She thinks that he is a relative, and likes to watch over the family. We checked the garage last, and I recorded our question and answer session there. Susan felt an angry emotion there. Finally, we met with the homeowners to discuss our findings. We found out that this was a control investigation, meaning a home without any known haunting. Although, the owner had experienced things in the past, and in other locations. Later, I listened to my recordings, and heard nothing unusual. I got nothing in my digital pictures either.

First Impressions - While waiting to start the investigation, I was sitting on the sofa in the living room
and felt a pressure to the middle of my forehead.
(The home owners were smokers. Smoke sensitivity?)
Kitchen - Nothing.
Office - In corner near back door, felt pressure in my chest. Hard to breath. (Kitty litter pan beside door.)
Second walk through as we were asking questions and getting spikes on the EMF the air
felt heavy/dense then lifted when we stopped getting responses on the EMF.
Dining Room - Nothing.
Bedroom 1 (master?)- Nothing.
Bedroom 2 - As I entered through the doorway I felt a sharp pain on the side of my chest on the right side.
Hallway - When I had my back to the closet door I felt as if someone was behind me.
Bathroom - Nothing.
Outside- Nothing, but as I entered the front door to go back in I felt dizzy/lightheaded. (Smoke, again?)
Garage- Chemical smell that also in some areas almost smelt like skunk. Felt a warm spot ended up being from water heater.
Heard a tapping sound. Sounded like it came from above light which was turned off. Brandy investigated - couldn't find
anything. (water pipe?)
When we went back to this area on the second walk through we received many spikes on the EMF as we were asking questions
and talking. I felt tingling go down my body twice, when the EMF spiked.
Conclusion - Nothing interesting on digital camera or recorder. Waiting on development of disposible camera.
Did not feel anything conculsive on a scientific level that this house was haunted. (Found out later
that this was a controlled investigation)
On a personal level from what I experienced during the investigation, there maybe someone watching
over the homeowners. (a past loved one?)

I have nothing to add to the scientific data reported in the online summary report as far as temperatures, EMF readings, etc. I will say that the compass fluctuations I saw in the master bedroom are the first I have seen on an investigation that were not caused by electronic equipment or metal near the compass. The compass went off about 45 degrees then swung back to north at about the mid point of both sides of the bed. There was no obvious metal or electronic equipment near these points. When we returned to the room to check again, the fluctuations did not happen. There were no orbs in my digital photos and I didn’t detect any EVPs on my audio tape. I also couldn’t tell much difference in the sound quality of my tape in the room where we had the white noise machine running as opposed to the rooms where we didn’t have it running.
As usual, I didn’t ‘feel’ anything unusual in the house. The only thing I thought was strange was the sound in the garage light fixture after we had turned the light off. It was kind of a dripping sound at irregular intervals. I thought it was the sound of the light bulb cooling down, but others pointed out reasons why that couldn’t have been the cause. If it wasn't the light bulb cooling down, then it was definitely spooky!
Other observations: The female homeowner was obviously a kindred spirit and might be a good addition to our group. The house had a few gargoyles and dragon figures, but they didn’t seem to be haunted. Susan detected the presence of the female homeowner’s deceased father, but his presence was not an unwelcome one. As it turned out, this was a control investigation – one where no ghostly activity had been reported.

Psychic Impressions
I experienced pressure in my head in the living room / dining room areas. These sensations could certainly been a result of my sensitivity to cigarette smoke. Both occupants frequently smoke in that area.
Conclusion
Based on the data I collected, there does not appear to be any significant paranormal activity occurring at this residence.

Hello Brandy,
I have reviewed the 43rd Street investigation information. Please, do thank all of the SPIRITS investigators for taking their time to visit with my husband and myself and "other family members". I do trust our home will serve as a good base for your groups future investigations. Again, I stand by my belief that my house is not a "haunted" dwelling as I believe everyone has someone watching over them from beyond.
I would like to pass a small piece of information onto Susan. I mentioned during the interview that I had been to another psychic, some 16 years ago. After your group left I pulled out the old copy of her reading and there at the top of the page was......"Bill" with a heart next to it. This psychic had also stated as Susan did, that Bill loved me. I thought Susan would appreciate this parallel. Perhaps Bill is my primary "voice", which is a male voice.
It was an amazing relief to be able to speak with people about certain events and beliefs in my life that I don't share with the human flow of daily life.

Everyone has a personal concept of the mystery of life after death. Some of us have had encounters so unusual that we can only quantify this as being outside the standard parameters of existence; it reaches to the paranormal.
So, what does one do to explore the paranormal? It is time to take the plunge and get active! But, how does one find others that share this fascination and are willing to go to some pretty strange places? Who do you ask about ghosts? Oh, sure, there are some popular TV shows at the moment that exhibit their operations for entertainment purposes. Yet, watching a show and participating in a team are entirely different matters. It can be tricky to find a group to belong to, not to mention to ensure that the group wants you along for the ghosting adventure.
If you are very lucky during a web search, you will find an experienced group of ghost hunting enthusiasts. This group will also just happen to be looking for non-haunted houses to use for baseline readings for their ghost hunting research. This is how I discovered the SPIRITS of St. Petersburg. I was able to meet and observe the group and their methodologies. I admit that I was skeptical at first; this is a highly questionable field that has carried its share of charlatans and fakeries.
So, here I found myself allowing a group of strangers to enter my home who were going to investigate every nook, cranny and (gasp) hall closet where an unseen entity may be harbored. It was pretty clear that the group did not know that my house was a non-haunted establishment, as I had been promised by SPIRITS co-founder, Brandy Stark. But, the SPIRITS of St. Petersburg held a few surprises for me.
Though they amazed me with all the technical and scientific equipment being utilized as they plotted each and every room, but they also brought with them a very talented sensitive. The equipment and the sensitive worked jointly, and successfully, I might add, with the science of ghost hunting. It was very clear that this group had a plan, knew exactly what they were doing, and got down to business in a very sane and effective manner. Yet it was the sensitive that “enlightened” the evening in a very dramatic way.
Once the group had explored the inside and outside of the house, they reassembled in the living room to report their individual findings. Then they determined to further investigate my back bedroom for possible paranormal activity. I had kept close watch on the group all along; I wanted to know if these people were the kind of folks I would like to participate with in doing paranormal investigations.
The data derived at the conclusion of the investigation came from both the technical readings and the sensitive. What amazed me was the spot-on accuracy of the sensitive/technical combination. Not only did the SPIRITS sensitive pick up on private family information, she was also very much in synch with the equipment readings. To my relief, there was no table tipping, séances or Ouija boards in sight. They presented just the facts. The SPIRITS of St. Petersburg made a believer out of me; this was an impressive group. Now it was my turn to impress this well organized team to accept me as a member.
One year later: I am very pleased that I was able to convince the SPIRITS of St. Petersburg to accept me as a committed member of the investigations team. I have learned vast amounts of information, as well as investigation do’s and don’ts. I can ask the question, “to orb or not to orb?” I have filled a niche within the team: I specialize in EVPs, which we have captured, and I even joined the AAEVP. I have learned of a few ‘hidden” abilities I didn’t know I possessed!
My goal of joining a trustworthy paranormal team is accomplished, though my hunger for knowledge has increased with every investigation I’ve attended. I’ve become eager for the next paranormal investigation, excited to see what this team and I will discover about the world of the unknown.
